Questions & Answers

With no subscription fee, can this be used with a Wink Hub?

There is no way for me to work it and I am not sure what to do. The frustration got the better of me and I Perhaps I can try again later, but not right now. There is no Wink hub in my house. There might be a missing piece there.

Would this system alert me when the garage is still open when I forget to close it every single time? Is that something I can do only with the MyQ app?

Obviously, you can have it tell you when it was opened and when it was closed, but I did not encounter any alarms. In any case, you can check to see if the app is open on your phone or iPad by opening it up. Checking the app often is really a big part of my life. An example could be a few days ago we received an Amazon delivery and got to choose where the item should be placed. The garage door was notified that it was opening, and I checked a Wyze camera and saw the truck and delivery person, and the door was also notified that it was closing. It was simple to use, easy, and worked

There is a liftmaster garage door opener in my garage. In the event that I forget, will the door close automatically after 30 seconds via this MyQ hub? Thanks a lot! ?

It does not work that way in the hub. If you want this feature, you should get a wall control that has it. It is possible that you will not be able to get this on an older LiftMaster. There is a timer feature on the wall control, called TTC ( Timer to Close ).

What is the correct interpretation? Chamberlain's website says it works with myq. It consists of two parts g0201 and Hubs G0301. This listing clearly states that they are not compatible with myQ-based systems The G0201 code. ?

When I contacted Chamberlain they indicated this was the correct part for older My Garage units (e.g. When I asked the question whether the spacer is included in the listing, people were clueless or otherwise unhelpful, as they were with the other answers to your post.

The system worked intermittently, making it unreliable
3/5

The main garage door sensor that comes with the MyQ hub is my first one. This is my second one. I have had no issues with the main garage sensor so far. It reports that the door is closed in reality, but the additional sensor reports that it is open. To sync the app/hub and the door it takes a bit of effort, and one needs to use the hardwired buttons for There is nothing worse than leaving the house and getting an alert that the door hasn't been closed, only to turn back and find out that the sensor was lying. And then you would need to spend an additional ten dollars Restoring everything to its original state takes about 15 minutes. In order to verify that the MyQ hub was communicating, I tested communication with fresh batteries, followed workarounds on the MyQ website, etc. The device remains It had to be confirmed whether the MyQ system is telling the truth by installing another door sensor on each of my garage doors. One more thing to complain about. This is a device we should be able to trust.

The following information is for your protection
3/5

I found this to be quite cool until it failed. The following information is for your protection. A problem has appeared that I had no idea would occur. Having the ability to control the doors is a nice feature. However, I've had problems twice and have been blessed with good luck. Using the extra features of closing the doors automatically poses an issue only if you choose to use them. I set the doors so we close them automatically if they are left open for 2 hours. Once 1130pm is reached, I allow the doors to be closed if they are up. The dog and I walked one last time before bed. We ended the evening around 10 p. m. I closed up the house and went to bed. There was an error in the app that I wasn't notified of when the sensor failed. In the late hours of the night, I was awoken by the sound of the Of course I was freaked out because I thought someone was trying to break in. I had to think for a while before I figured out the issue. In the case you are pulling out of the drive on the way to work, what would you do? Almost 2 hours later, you have an open door all day long for anyone to get into your garage and into your home. It is even worse for me as I leave my dog in the garage, which is cool, and it is half of When the door opened she would get out and be gone before I could reach my house. So, take care to not use the extra features that automatically close the doors.

It will not be possible to control it with your voice
3/5

It was on sale for $50 at the time I bought it. The second receiver cost $40, making the total a total of $90 for two doors on the same system. I think it's an OK price. There is a subscription option for $10 a year if you want to use it with Google Home, but it's not really all that useful. In a few moments, I will discuss that. A garage door opener installs easily, but the base must be placed relatively close to the garage door or it will not work properly. Within 10 feet is what I'd estimate. In order for the transmitter to work reliably between the two openers, I had to place it between the two doors. I have no issues with the app- That's about it. If you have a weak cellular or WiFi signal it might not work well, but that is to be expected and not a knock against the device.

Now for the bad. If you want to use the app with Google Home integration, you must sign up for an account and purchase a $10 subscription. There really is no shame in this money grab, though I did pay I was expecting it to work, but it doesn't. Probably buried deep in the site they list this, but I never noticed Your garage will not be opened by it. The company has deemed that a security risk, so you cannot open your garage with Google assistant. In addition, it doesn't work with either Home or Google Assistant natively. To ask Google whether your garage door is open, say OK Google, Talk to MyQ. Google replies "Alright here's MyQ". MyQ replies "Ask me whether your garage door is open or closed or ask me to close one or all of your garage doors. ". I found the voice recognition to be pretty poor. The doors I named Bay 1 and Bay 2 are Bay 1 and Bay 2 respectively. Whenever I ask Bay 2 about its status, I get a response that Bayto couldn't be found. In the garages Bay 1 and Bay 2, you have two spaces. By opening the app and checking status instead of asking Google to do it, it is quicker to check status. A primary reason for purchasing it was to open the garage door with my voice. Since I drive a motorcycle and my garage is located on a hill, it would be useful for me. My garage door opener would have to be started manually, so I had to pull up to the door, put it in neutral, open the glove box and then press the button while holding my balance and the rear brake to open it. In this day and age of the internet of things, this is not a terrible problem, but a minor irritation. The idea was when I was driving home, I would press a button on my helmet, say OK Google, and it would open my garage. So I could roll right in as soon as I pulled into my driveway. The integration with Google Assistant is completely doable but for some reason no one has yet managed to make it happen. It does work with voice opening but was spotty at best. Sometimes it did, but generally it didn't. I picked up a NexxtHome garage door opener ($100 one door). It did sometimes and sometimes not. It was usually just a matter of using The other real annoyance is when you need to close the garage door through the app. There are several red LEDs that flash, along with a loud beep that is sounded several seconds before the door is actually closed by the transmitter. Though I understand their desire for safety, at least give me the option of customizing The first screech and blinding flash don't tell us if the door is truly closing until a few moments after they appeared. In the end, I will not return it and will continue to ride with it on my phone and use it to open the door while driving. From what I've seen, my complaints are easy to resolve. Wishing you luck finding a vendor who can do the job.
