To keep squirrels and chipmunks at bay, I had to measure mine for the circumference of some pots. So I cut the whole thing down with certain pieces and they've stayed intact, not frayed on the ends or in the middle, I believe that's what you're asking. They have served me well and I would recommend them.
Because hardware cloth is made of metal, it is not combustible at standard "fire" temperatures, though we have heard of customers using it in fire pits or grills.
Mice, rats, squirrels, and other pests are commonly kept out with this product.

There is a clear lack of quality control. Be careful what you buy.
Every vent in my home is a potential entry point for flying embers blown in by the wind. Retrofitting existing 1/4" (or larger) mesh vents to attics and crawlspaces with a 1/8" mesh hardware cloth like this one is recommended. Cut to size and install over or inside existing vents with ease. Alternatively, you can purchase new 1/8" vents and use a 1/4"-drive screwdriver to remove your old ones. 1/2".
Our home is in a fire-prone area, and despite all of the other mitigation and fire-prevention measures we've taken, gable-end fires are still a possibility. end attic vents were still an issue that needed to be addressed. Some had mesh at one time, but it became permanently detached when its cruddy little spot-on surface deteriorated. The welds had come undone. I used this one ten-dollar bill to replace all five vent covers. Hardware cloth in a foot roll, stapled in place either flush with the back of the vent louvers or folded in place for those who want to leave some space in the frame. The galvanic coating didn't leak out when the hardware cloth was bent, and it stapled easily. I ran a 30-second cycle through a small section of the unused hardware cloth. With a butane lighter, I did a second flame test, and it only discolored; There were no broken welds, and there was no combustion.
This worked well for cutting a spark arrestor for the cap of my wood tent stove. It cut easily with scissors, and I had purchased a stove pipe rain cap to make replacing the screen when it became clogged a breeze.
It's difficult to come by 8 hardware cloth in my area, but this is exactly what I needed! br>br>The price is fair, and the quality meets my requirements. br>br>For my honeybee hives, I used this to make screened bottom boards and moisture quilts. I cut it with metal shears, and it was fairly simple. I simply used markers to trace a line on the mesh, and it worked perfectly!.
We used this to keep mice out of our camper, and so far it has worked well. I couldn't find it in stores, so Amazon came through for me!.
For inner hive screen covers, this was exactly what was required.
Arrived on time and in good condition. Easy to cut to size, I used it to make a screen cover for my shop's air conditioner to keep wasps out. It really works. Thanks.
