Questions & Answers
Most rodents and pests will be able to get through a 1/2 inch opening. However, there can be no assurances. Pests will try to burrow under or climb over the fence once it is put in place. Decide how you'll handle it right away, rather than waiting until they've figured out how to get in.
I work as a apiarist. This hardware cloth could easily be passed by a honey bee. However, it remains a stumbling block. I'd recommend a larger size than 1/4" if you want pollination.
It's galvanized after it's been welded.
Yes, you can use this hardware cloth beneath the ground to protect your lawn from gophers digging.

a coop for chickens that has been proofed Exactly the same quality as you'd find in a big box hardware store, but at a fraction of the price. Make sure you get the right gauge thickness of wire - The thinner the wire, the smaller the number; this 19 gauge is ideal for making our predator-proof chicken coop frame. Because the 23 gauge would have been less sturdy, it was proof. With the right wire cutters, cutting is a breeze. The 1/2" squares are all exactly the same size - There were a few off squares, but in 100 feet of mesh, that's still really good quality, in my opinion. I can't speak to the quality of the galvanization because this wire hasn't been through any major storms, but I'll update my review if anything changes. This is a product I would buy again in a heartbeat.
Update: As can be seen in the second photo, the replacement also arrived damaged. br>br>I'm not thrilled about having to exchange this because it arrived damaged, and now I won't get the replacement until Monday, which means our weekend project will be pushed back another weekend.
It's pretty easy to staple a hundred lines. The best part is that the wires do not require any trimming; they can do it without much hassle.
My vegetable garden is being invaded by two bunny rabbits. I wanted to keep costs low and keep things simple, so I used reclaimed pallet wood planks (1x4) as fence posts and then 1-inch reclaimed pallet wood planks for the rest of the fence. The hardware cloth is secured to the posts with 1/4" washers and exterior screws. This cloth was 100% undamaged upon delivery and easy to work with
It's fantastically good. It will last a lifetime and can be used a thousand times. So far, I've ordered three 100-foot rolls of material. The only problem I've had was with a roll that vanished during shipping. But! Within three days, customer service intervened and resolved the issue, sending me a replacement! Amazing. I am certain that I will purchase more in the future.
This was perfect for my chicken coop! To cut through it, I used an angle grinder. blades were devoured at an alarming rate!.
This came with j clip pliers and clips, which I purchased as well. To convert our enclosed chicken coop into a quail aviary, we added a second layer of fencing to the lower half. The quail couldn't get through the larger fencing, but ravens were able to get their beaks through and peck at the quail that like to nest along the perimeter of the covered yard. This fabric was supposed to be used to make small cages for the quail, but my husband decided they needed more room. I still have plenty of it and know it will come in handy.
To keep rabbits and skunks out, we used this at the bottom of our fence. It has so far been successful in resolving the problem. Not the easily bendable wire, but a good strong gauge. It was well worth the money.
