Questions & Answers

This is the error message I received during checkout. There is a problem with the shipping address that I entered. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is not listed in your shipping policy?

The Amazon website does not specify to where deliveries take place, but I would imagine it does.

Do you know if Comfortmaker will work with it?

Carrier - worked with them

It looks like a silicon nitride Ignitor. Is that it?

No, there is a mistake in the first answer. In the meantime, one can use silicon carbide. The nitrates are newer.

What are the advantages of using it in gas ovens (Peerless Premier)?

My opinion is that it is not, but I would ask a qualified technician to have a look at it.

The part is easy to replace in five minutes, and instructions can be found on YouTube
5/5

A savings of $240 was made. In the process of getting my semi-annual heater/air conditioner cleaned and checked up, my technician told me that I had to replace the ignition system. As I asked him how much it'd be, he said he normally charges $300, but since I have a "plan," I would get a 25% discount to $255 instead. When he returned, I checked Amazon's part price and realized that there was a mistake. He went to his truck for the part and I checked the price on Amazon while he was gone. As for the price, I told him that I didn't need his help to replace a part at that price. Instead, I ordered the part, went to you tube and found people who replace the igniter but also record videos for you and me. My ignition unit was replaced in less than a minute without incident.

The hot surface ignitor in our gas furnace is similar to those found in many gas furnaces. Each time the burner needs to light, it lights up like a glow plug, so it cycles up to the top of the flame The water has been ice cold for thousands of years. In the end, it cracks and goes out, just as a burnt out light bulb does. We heard from a technician that he changes these all the time. They last about ten In other words, you can change one just as easily as a light bulb if you have one. Just loosen a few screws, pull the old plug out, slide the new one in, tighten the screws, and plug it in. You can have it all It looks like I made a mistake. However, our weekend night was cold and we couldn't have a fire. The reason for the $285 call was to have a technician come out as soon as possible This is a five-minute As a result, we now have a brand new spare in a box next to the furnace and we will keep it that way.

I am extremely pleased with this Carrier furnace
5/5

You can get an extra by purchasing one! The propane in my furnace failed to ignite during the recent cold snap. 1) The previous ignitor lasted about I discovered the surface igniter was cracked as I was troubleshooting the problem. To have an extra product on hand and in case the product is broken as other reviewers have indicated, I ordered two of these. Despite being well packaged, both parts arrived in good condition and were functioning as expected. Thankfully, I have been able to get my heater It was a pleasure to receive the package fast. Having an extra ignitor on hand for when the new one goes out was appreciated considering it was quite cold outside. I would recommend it to anyone.

In addition, I have a When snowmageddon '19 hit, our furnace failed to turn on. Not only did I not notice any codes, I also did not see any indication of an "insufficient flame sensor" or "bad igniter". These are the two items that I ordered. First things first, I discovered how delicate this is after taking off the old one. They're like ornaments around the holidays. Make sure you treat them right or you'll be buying a new one sooner or later. JIC, I bought two of them. The igniter worked as designed once the bracket was installed, after which it was screwed into place and turned on the furnace. A friend of mine saved my butt by purchasing from Amazon. It doesn't appear that anyone in my area sells these, and if anyone does, it seems like they sell to service technicians and contractors. The system you are trying to work on could silently kill your family in just 10 minutes if you make a mistake It is, however, a straightforward issue. Please replace that with a new one. How does a flame sensor work? Thanks a lot! What else do you want to add? Not at all. The rest of my work will be handled by a professional.

A DIY project will cost you little or nothing
5/5

Over $3000 was saved by me. I had an old 30 year old furnace that wouldn't ignite. looked into local furnace repair shops who charged a minimum of $200 for their service. There was one scheduler who said to me that old furnaces (20 years or older) almost always need Based on my research, I estimate a furnace replacement to cost at least $3000. The (free) PG&E talk I had scheduled worked out well for me Ensure that your furnace is working properly. It was determined that the hot surface igniter was the issue and the technician explained how it could be fixed. According to him, it is rarely necessary to replace gas furnaces because they age so quickly, and he asserted that telling people they need a new furnace is a scam. In the end, I spent about $17 on the ignitor and it Slide it into place was a bit of a challenge. I practiced using the old ignitor until I was sure I could replace it without damaging the ceramic blade, as instructed by the tech. It can be damaged by touching it with your hand or if you knock it against the furnace walls. After I had the furnace installed, it worked like a charm and I have had no problems since. It's not that I'm an expert, but it's that I am not Handyman, then. It was essential for me to pay attention to what I was doing, but no specific tools or expertise were needed. A lot of effort was put into it.

We are offering these hot surface igniters at an unbelievable price
5/5

The lifespan of these hot surface igniters is about two years on average. My furnace has sometimes failed at the worst time, and I have had to employ an emergency furnace repair person during the middle of the night. As I am a retired person who travels to warmer places during the winter months, I replace this a week or two before I exit. So far, I have never had a problem without it. There is no better way to protect yourself than to purchase cheap insurance. In addition, I have a wifi thermostat that I can use from anywhere to constantly monitor my furnace. There are no better HSIs at this price and they are in very good condition.

My DIY replacement only cost me a fraction of what a service call would have cost me
5/5

When our furnace stopped working, I went down to my crawlspace to determine the cause. After locating the igniter, I found out that the problem was that it wasn't igniting. I followed a YouTube video to determine where it was located. In my quest to find a hardware store, I checked every single one in town after removing it. There wasn't a single one in stock, so I hopped over to Amazon. The new furnace arrived today, and after loosening one screw and unplugging the wire, we had hot water. In addition to the service call and what they would have charged me for the part, the local HVAC company would have charged me over $100 for the installation as well. With a little more than $20 and a little patience, you can get plugs for less than $20 As for heaters, our heater is working perfectly again and our house is warm and cozy.
