It is inevitable that your solenoid valve will fail. Depending on how this is handled, either your water will keep flowing continuously into your unit (and waste water) or there will be no water flow. A majority of NORMAL solenoid valves are under $30, so this isn't an issue. In this case, however, the replacement would cost more than $90. In spite of the humidifier working well, the solenoid constantly fails. Over the last two years, I have had to replace the solenoid four times. The cost ranges from $60 to $90 dollars, depending on where you buy them. It will cost me $143 to buy a new humidifier unit. Honeywell should either fix the solenoid or stop making this junk. Cost of part is ridiculous, and it lasts for a ridiculous amount of time.
