Questions & Answers

Is this unit required to drain, and if so, how does it drain? Does it drain by gravity or do you have to pump it out? There is no drain on the floor of the furnace room. ?

It is necessary to install a drain. Neither a pump nor a hose is present in the unit drainage occurs naturally. As a result, you will either need a drain pipe below the humidifier or, as I did, I can feed the hose from my humidifier into the sump pump in my furnace and it drains into If you choose this alternative, you can buy a small sump pump exclusively for use with

Do you know if it comes with a GFX3 automatic humidity meter? In the initial description, a manual humidistat is described. Please accept my sincere thanks! ?

As with mine (shipped by climatedoctors), it came with the GFX3 Automatic Humidstat, which is a very nice piece. The A in the model number means automatic humidistat, and so anyone who sells this one should include it as well. You can also use the GFX3 in manual mode, so maybe that is what it refers

Do you know if it comes with a GFX3 automatic humidity meter? In the initial description, a manual humidistat is described. It was a pleasure working with you! ?

In addition to the digital humidistat and outdoor temperature, it has a wireless remote control. You can use the humidistat in manual mode if you do not wish to use the temperature from the outside. When I leave mine in auto and set the settings to 4 or 5, the screen stays at 2700 square inches. This is feet. In the 42% range.

Is the installation of the 10 year warranty required by the dealer?

It is true that a contractor needs to install the unit to get the 10 year warranty.

It is a very good Besides the fact that it's a pain to cut large holes in sheet metal with tin snips, this was a very straightforward installation
5/5

After I traced the template with a sharpie, I cut that big square out. In both the inside and outside of the base plate, I taped around all edges with foil tape. It was easy to connect the water lines to my supply ducts, thanks to my close proximity to water lines. As my HVAC unit had a relay which would turn on and off automatically when it was running, I was able to make use of that to turn on and off the humidifier as well. It's convenient to be able to push a button and see the outside temperature from the temperature probe on the humidistat mounted next to my thermostat. Despite the fact that I run it off cold water, it seems to be on more often than not. I have wood floors throughout the house (1800 square feet) so they are still absorbing a good deal of the humidity since my house was at only 10% or less when I installed it. The application has run less now that it has been installed almost a month, and things seem to have balanced a bit. In the event that it doesn't improve in the next month, I might switch to hot water since I have geothermal heating and the supply air is only 90 F, as opposed to over 100 F for typical oil or gas heating. I like the unit overall, especially the humidistat, which has large, clear backlit numbers and is easy to use. My HVAC unit is not audible over the fan when my heat is set to high speed, but on low speed it can be heard if you listen for it in my utility room, which is off my kitchen. If this were in a basement you would not.

It works well and is well made
5/5

As a result of Sandy, my HVAC system was replaced, leading to the purchase of this humidifier. My furnace has a down-flow system, so I installed the humidifier in the section that houses the AC coil. In order to minimize the wiring needed to connect the humidifier, I installed the humidistat in the return duct. The connection on the furnace control board is relayed, so it only runs when the furnace calls for it Using a hot water line to vaporize better, I connected the humidifier to a hot water supply. In addition, I also put my furnace next to my hot water heater in the garage, which simplified things further. door frame hole for the thermocouple wire for the humidistat was used to run it from the outside to the humidistat. The hardest part (which was easy) was cutting the furnace panel opening. With a sheet metal blade, I used a jigsaw. I was able to lay these out easily and cut them out using the provided template. In the house, I have an Ambient Weather weather station with a separate reading of humidity and dew point. As the humidity increased, it did so when it was supposed to. I have used this product on dry days in the winter and it has worked quite well to keep the interior comfortable. There is nothing better than a 10 year warranty as well.

You have upgraded your home to an awesome level
5/5

Installing the controls in a common area can be a little pricey and time consuming, especially if you spend a lot of money and time on it. This is an awesome deal if your inclined towards mechanical work. It is next to my existing thermostat that I wanted to install the stat. It's a good idea to use lots of wire, like the one that comes with a kit to install an ice maker I used braided stainless hose in the box and it worked well. Otherwise, it uses too much water. If you crack open the valve just a little, it does not use as much water as normal. It would also be wise to install a current sensing switch to prevent it from running when the furnace is not turned on. In addition, if the basement or furnace room has a finished ceiling, you need to make use of an outdoor thermostat sensor. In order to install the outdoor sensor, all my control wires were run up into the attic, then across the roof to the stat and down to the soffit. A thermostat that controls humidity and controls temperature will be a useful addition to my house. You can also mount humidistati on the duct to get the same results. On the other hand, if you wish to add value to your home, a picture on the wall in a common area might be attractive. In addition, the out-of-door temperature can be checked, which is too sweet.

A superb product
4/5

I went with the Generalaire unit instead of Honeywell or Aprilaire since it comes with the best humidistat by a considerable margin. An outdoor temperature monitor is provided on the E2 humidistat so temperature changes can be calculated as to a fluctuating dew point. When you reside in the northern parts of the country, where temperatures are likely to change daily, this is vital information. It is a reasonably good set of instructions. They have the best customer service line if you have any questions or need anything Nose job. Answers to my questions were given right away when I called twice. It is a relatively simple process to install the software. It is supposed to be possible to use heated or cold water, but I recommend you to only use hot water since it will cause more evaporation and will not cool the hot air, which will force your furnace to burn My two issues with it are as follows* * * * I have two concerns. A part of it was that the collar on the outlet of the solenoid was not tightened. As long as I didn't tighten it up myself, I was able to leak water But it was the factory's responsibility to finish it. There is also the issue that the fan is quite loud when it runs. Although not unbearably loud, I can clearly hear that the unit is running, no matter how far I am. There might be other brands that are just as loud, however. My knowledge of the topic is limited. Having a 10 year warranty is just one of the many advantages this unit offers so I would highly.

I'm very pleased with it! During last winter, the system was installed early and we had all the moisture Michigan needed
5/5

As the furnace runs, it is barely noticeable that the fan is spinning. A humidistat is the best humidifier on the market, according to me.

The parts are of good quality
5/5

It is easier to install a humidifier using a fan than one that uses a bypass. The parts are of good quality. It arrived very quickly.

Please remember to switch the 120 volt power on when the furnace is running and the humidistat should be getting a constant 24 volt supply. There are a few options for wiring provided in the instructions.
