An interesting feature of the filter is a thin layer of charcoal on one side. Installed on the side visible to the eye, the mesh is made of aluminum. Basically, this range hood has a charcoal filter that also works as a grease filter.

This product would probably not be a problem if it cost $2. There is, however, an additional fee of An aluminum frame that isn't quite fitting right, and a very thin layer of charcoal filter material that is so thin that it is full of obvious holes. Although this is SLIGHTLY better than nothing, it's by no means better than nothing. I definitely do not think it was I would like to point out a few things The range unit I purchased only came with the metal grease shield, so I ordered the charcoal filter as well. The charcoal filter was expected to come in a substantial package, and should be mounted As a replacement for the grease shield, a charcoal filter is used. Moreover, the filter I received (from seller 'Air Filter Factory') did not have a part number or label identifying it as a Broan filter. Could this be a cheap(er) knockoff of the It might not be worth purchasing a Broan filter as well if it is similar to the Aegis. I plan on making my own in the future. I think you can take the frame apart of the one you already have pretty easily, and then replace the used black filter element with a better one (and a thicker one). As an example Here's the URL. This is Amazon. Go to http//www. SmartAire-Cut- The replacement - A carbon-based material In the pre- I don't know if you're aware, but you could make several replacements from this, or double it up, etc.
Another option is to add another layer of filtration (maybe the kind for central air units or HEPA air cleaners? with some modifications.
The major feature that caught my attention about this filter was the charcoal filter. That is why I had changed out my previous hood vent filter. It began producing an oil odor after a few months of use, and I began noticing it whenever the hood vent was turned on, which is a recirculating vent. I replace my old filter with this one since my old one fit better, and while it wasn't a charcoal filter, it didn't produce any oil/grease odors whenever it was used.
There was a problem with the size of the filter on Broan, it seems, stops supporting discontinued products as soon as they are removed from the market. The number of each filter changed, and there is no way to cross reference them with what is currently in effect.
In my case, since my oven hood vents indoors, it is important that the filter is replaced occasionally with a charcoal filter. It is nice to find the original replacement once in a while, because I get one or two every 6 months. A lot of confusion can be caused by purchasing these. I have no issues with it.
The existing filter in my house had completely disintegrated when I bought it. On the labels I found the numbers and now I'm The fit is perfect and I'm glad to have it back.
There is nothing special about a range hood filter, but it's always frustrating to find that after you purchased something, you can't get replacement parts for it. But I did order two so I have backups just in case this item suddenly became unavailable over time. It is a great product and I am pleased with how it performed The replacement part can be easily found.
In fact, these do an excellent job of capturing After we clean the hood very little oil is able to leak through the filter to the fan blades. In terms of cooking odors, charcoal does a good job, but with an indoor vent, it is going to be difficult to capture everything no matter how good the filter is. It is recommended.
It seems like I haven't seen so much grease on top of the hood before.
