Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the NuTone 684nt?

I looked for a match for Nutone 684 bath fan online but couldn't find one. Broan S97017065 bath fan is a direct replacement for Broan 676- C/676F- My new fan fit perfectly in the old housing when it arrived. It was a match made in heaven. On Amazon, the Broan S97017065 bath fan was listed as a replacement for the Broan 676 bath fan. That was my motivation for purchasing it, and I'm glad I did.

Is the blower shell shown in the picture included with this item?

Yes, it is delivered in the manner depicted in the image. Fits into the housing and connects to the enclosure box's existing outlet. If this is a direct replacement for your unit, no other accessories are required. I unplugged my old, rusted, non-running unit and replaced it with this one. The switch was turned on and it worked perfectly.

My fan is labeled 676-H670 and fits in an "h670" housing. 1, rather than a, b, c, and so on. Is this still going to fit in this place? (Is this a model from Canada?

All I know is that the Broan S97017065 fan will fit in the Broan 676-style housing. C/676 F- br>I have no experience with Canadian fans.

It didn't fit my needs according to the description, but it did according to some of the information. I placed my order in the hopes that it would fit, and it did. br>The photo shows the unit in which it was installed.

I was relieved to get rid of the old unit
5/5

This was an excellent solution! Wish I'd known years ago that this was all I needed to fix my bathroom fan (we've been either living with an airplane engine or not using our fan). It was used a lot more than it wasn't. As a result, I'm having to re-write it. Because of the humidity, I had to prime and paint the ceilings of my bathroom - But, hey, a fresh coat of paint never hurts! I assumed that the entire unit would need to be replaced, and that we would need to hire an electrician and an HVAC technician. and the number would be in the thousands. It'll cost you less than $100, and it'll be as simple as removing a screw, swapping out this piece, and replacing the screw. I was relieved to discover broken fins on the fan when I removed the old unit, as this explained why it sounded so bad, vibrating in the ductwork. In under 5 minutes, it was replaced. I'm tickled pink all over again! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This bathroom fan has been a thorn in my side for years; thank you, thank you, thank you!.

It's possible that this will be of interest to you
3/5

Due to a faulty fan assembly, this only gets two stars. Due to poor spot welds, one side of the fan motor mounting bracket was completely detached from the base plate. This manufacturing flaw was immediately apparent when the product was opened. Two stars were docked due to poor workmanship and quality control, and one star was docked due to my grumpiness. br>br>To assist anyone considering purchasing this item, this fan assembly appears to be nearly identical to the ancient fan assembly in my bathroom (which is labeled as a Broan 684F-1). In a 687H housing, use a B fan). The only real difference I notice is that the new unit has an in-built thermal cutout switch, which I assume is a safety feature. line with the power cord, which should not have a negative impact on the fit. up, on the other hand br>br>According to my observations, the new unit will fit into a standard 8 inch by 8 inch ceiling box. With the bracket installed (properly) on the base plate, the overall height of the motor/fan is identical to that of my old unit. The specifications of the motor are zero. CCW rotation from the shaft end, 48 amp, 1620 rpm. I'll try to include a couple of images as examples. This would have been a good replacement option if the bracket had been installed properly. But, hey, there's always next time.

Direct replacement is possible
5/5

This was purchased to replace a Broan 676F- The B unit had completely shut down. I took out the old unit, and this one was a direct replacement, so it fit perfectly. After cleaning the original unit, I plugged in the new one and replaced the plastic cover. When I turned on the wall switch, the unit turned on immediately. It wasn't particularly quiet, but it was adequate for what I needed. I was considering replacing the entire ceiling fixture with a light/fan unit, but this was so much easier and less expensive. I gave it five stars because it is a direct replacement for the original, and I had no expectations of a quieter fan or any installation issues.

It's a good substitute for a loud fan
5/5

Although this fan is much quieter than the one it replaced, it is still quite loud. Because I CAREFULLY tested this before installing, I believe it's the way the mount is installed in the ceiling rather than the fan or motor itself. There was almost no noise. The metal housing appears to have just the right amount of vibration. So it's not as quiet as I'd hoped, but I'm still pleased with how much quieter it is than the old fan insert it replaced. It's possible that some of the noise is coming from the LED. We prefer the light to a silent fan now, as seen in the photo.

It does the job and is a good substitute
4/5

I'm not sure if this is OEM. I'm not sure if this is an OEM replacement because it's advertised as Broan, but there's no label on the product. The product's rotary fan blade is made of plastic, as opposed to the metal one I'm replacing. Anyway, this product works, and if Amazon allows it, I'll leave a long-term review of how well it performs; so far, it's blowing out more powerfully, and I'm satisfied. I'm hoping for a long time of happiness.

Nautilus N676C is no longer available
5/5

I wasn't sure if this would work as a replacement for Nautilus, but I just installed it and it's perfect. It was difficult to find information that translated part numbers between Nautilus, NuTone, and Broan, but I took a chance and it worked thanks to the help of other reviewers. Thank you to everyone who helped me with my search by reviewing and submitting photos.

Do not let your guard down
5/5

I had one in my stash, and one should be included with the part because it is simple to drop and has a secure closure. The new unit was a perfect fit. A screw driver was needed to widen one of the slots where one of the tabs fits. Slide the unit into the old housing, making sure the power plug is aligned. The blower is made of plastic, which is lighter and does not rust, and the mounting screw, which must be threaded into the slot, is easily dropped.
