Can be used with a NuTone 684NT- A, as well as other bathroom fans with a J housing, I assume. Because the NuTone fan I had was no longer available, I had to choose based on the specifications' size. The old unit was unplugged and removed, and the new one fit perfectly. The only difference is that this one has a high-temperature cutoff built into the power cord, which makes it a little bulkier but not an issue. I hope this has been of use to you.
The unit is functional and only took about five minutes to set up. It arrived in a timely manner and in good condition. This unit is a little louder than others, but it moves twice as much air as a standard bathroom fan. Please be aware that parts for various Broan fans are not interchangeable as some YouTube videos appear to suggest; I discovered this after purchasing the incorrect fan and then spending several hours trying to figure out which blower would fit my model 676-A. D fan.
It was very loud. This product is fine in and of itself, and the vent fan assembly into which it fits makes installation a breeze. The wiring is done in two ways. The only issue is that the light and fan must be connected to the proper switch. After removing a few screws, the old part comes out, and the "catch" tab must be released. The two tabs on the opposite side act as hinges and allow it to swing out. The process of installation is the inverse of that of removal. br>br>These fans are a little noisy, and even after all screws are tightened (we have three of them), they rattle and buzz (beyond the fan noise). The "snap together" design is most likely to blame. We've developed the ability to tune out the extraneous noise.
I recently moved into a home that had an old bathroom vent fan. I installed this as a direct replacement because it was super loud and full of dust (I feel like it was never cleaned). To pry the old one out, unplug it, and replace it, all you needed was a flat heat screw driver. After a shower, there is no longer any fog on my bathroom mirror (which was previously fogged). This fan isn't the quietest in the world, but it moves a lot of air.
Replace the entire fan with something better if you have the funds or know how. This item makes a lot of noise. br>In terms of service, the part arrived on time, and I am very pleased. The product is the sole focus of the rating. It's an awful fan.
This was the perfect match for my Broan 676. D is the ideal grade. It took me about ten minutes to switch things out. In fact, the new version is quieter than the old one.
I already wrote a review because I purchased two of these and they fit perfectly. The first went off without a hitch and was simple to put together. Second, the bracket was warped, so I had to remove the motor and replace it with the old one. It's still preferable to replacing the exhaust fan box in its entirety.
