Every three months or so, I think about it.
It cannot be washed.
I bought one with the same part number, and it worked perfectly.
A latch on the front holds it in place. Plastic is the material I use. Simply pull the filter downwards after releasing the latch. I hope this has been of assistance to you.

It was extremely difficult to locate a suitable replacement filter for my Braun hood. When you run the hood while boiling something on the stove, the plain mesh ones allow condensation and water to drip down. The previous ones I ordered were thicker and had a slightly molded shape, and they did an excellent job of drawing steam up and preventing condensation. These are not as thick and are flat instead of molded. They don't appear to be as effective at drawing steam upwards, but they do aid in condensation. It's not the fan, either, because I used both filters on high and this one didn't pull the steam up as well as the other.
I adored these filters in every way. They're the exact same as the originals and fit perfectly. They don't collect moisture like some others have claimed, but that could be because my hood is ducted to the outside; they're also durable, washable (throw them in the dishwasher), and stay flat like they should. Overall, I am a satisfied customer. I've misplaced the paperwork for my hood, so I'm afraid I won't be able to tell you what model or brand it is.
The filter arrived quickly and appeared to be in good condition, but it came with no instructions. It was nothing more than a filter in a plastic bag. On my brand new Broan hood, I installed it with the blue side down. When I turned on the fan, it only lasted 1 or 2 seconds before it stopped working. The fan blade ripped and became stuck in the aluminum mesh covering. I assumed the fan was broken, but then I noticed the filter was installed incorrectly. Now I've got a ripped filter, and I'm hoping it didn't damage my fan blades!.
This is the second filter I've bought from this company; the first one worked well for a short time, but this one isn't a carbon activated filter. The kitchen smells like oil. There isn't any filtering. This is a complete waste of money. It's just a sponge inside a piece of metal frame.
The fit is perfect!.
It's almost a marketing gimmick to call this a carbon filter. The 41F replacement filter is a perfect fit, but it doesn't work!.
This size isn't available in big box stores, in my opinion. This is fantastic, and I will purchase more as necessary. This one is for people who aren't able to read or write in English. As a result, the charcoal is used in vented ovens. Measure first, then place your order.
Rather than buying it from a local store, I ordered it from Amazon during this period. It was a fantastic experience that perfectly suited the filtering area.
