The filter fits our old range hood and is reasonably priced, but be aware that Amazon's geniuses will most likely ship it in a bubble mailer. It has no protection as a result of this. I've bought books in rigid cardboard mailers that cost half as much. They should do the same with this product, which clearly states, "Handle with care. " WARNING: DO NOT BEND! " Don't be surprised if it bends. Expect to go through several before finding one that you can bend back into working order, as Amazon and Air Filter Factory don't seem to mind. br>br>On the plus side, the product appears to be excellent, despite the fact that it is easily damaged. The metal grating you see in the picture is on the side facing the stovetop. It resembles the old filter that was installed when we first moved in (and attempted to clean before realizing how much easier it was to replace). A thin, black layer of charcoal covers the side that faces the exhaust. My neighbors are probably used to smelling what I'm cooking, but they'll notice a difference now. All of this for less than ten dollars per person? Great. Now that I've discovered two different variations on Amazon that I can replace on a regular basis, what should I do? It gets even better.

This was purchased to replace a filthy filter that had been installed in my apartment. It arrived in a nice box with a piece of cardboard to protect it from damage during shipping. It was simple to put in place. It has a small pull tab to help with removal, which I like. It's well-made, with crimped corners and intact screens; however, it's not intended to be washed and reused, which is fine. Expect to have to replace it on a regular basis. With that in mind, the value for money is reasonable.

I was worried because some reviews said it didn't fit the Nutone RL6200. There were no issues for me. It's comfortable to wear and durable.

The product itself deserves a five-star rating. The aluminum frame is superior to the hood's original frame.
- Due to shipping, the filter was bent and received a one-star rating. The filter is shipped in an envelope, which means it's pre-programmed to fail, as others have mentioned. Although there was a cardboard insert, it was insufficient to prevent the filter frame from bending during shipping. Fortunately, the bends were not severe enough to prevent the filter from staying in the hood (in this case).

The charcoal, on the other hand, is VERY FINE. I was in desperate need of replacement filters, and these were perfect. The charcoal, on the other hand, is almost non-existent. So, how do they function? Yes. Are they a good value for the money? Not really. If you have an old range that fits these, you are probably more concerned with price than with quality, and they will do the job.

As others have stated, it did come in a bubble mailer. I ordered two of them solely to stiffen up the package. As a result, they arrived in perfect condition.

I think every hood should have a charcoal filter because it helps to reduce the smells that come from cooking. However, the amount of charcoal in this filter is very thin, so considering how much it cost me, I would get something with more charcoal in it, but I like it and I will use it.

This was the best; it's a little smaller than the original, but it fits. Another mode I bought that should have fit was the wrong size.
