I don't think there is much to troubleshoot, if the door isn't latching then that is the problem. It takes no more than 10 minutes to replace it, which is very simple. If you don't want to use a little flat-head every time, you could use a little Phillips instead. As the lazy guy that I am, I didn't want to spend $60 on this waste of time

If your latch is spring controlled, you may not need to replace it. It latches closed with a plastic hook that is controlled by springs. the old part with the new one and then investigated the old one to find out what had gone wrong with it. There was nothing wrong with the latch hooky thing, only that the spring latch latch broke. It was just a matter of pushing it forward, and now it is working It costs me 80 dollars to replace a spare part, but it's all good.
It didn't seem like it would be in need of a repair at such an early date. As soon as I saw how many dirty dishes were piling up, I was in the market for a new door latch. A one-day shipping fee of $5 was also paid to Amazon. We don't know how slow the other sellers are when it comes to shipping. The old latch was easily replaced by removing the T20 screws and replacing the new latch. Before you remove power from your breaker panel, be sure to turn it off there. I received a part that looks nothing like what was pictured. Upon installation, I first thought the part would work, and it appeared that it would, indeed, There was power going to the washer, but no start. In addition, the latch did not lock I had to uninstall the part and return it.
It is easy to replace and is cheaper to buy. The design of the part appears to have been redesigned. It seems to have a much more rigid structure.
I order this based on reviews on Amazon and agree with what most of the other customers have said. After watching a two minute YouTube video, I was able to replicate the procedure on my own without any further instructions. Turning off the power at the breaker box should be the first thing you do. To do so, unscrew all the T20 torx screws inside of the door except the two centered on Pull those two slowly out enough to open the door, but not all the way to the switch. If you want to replace the old one, unplug the old one and replace it with the new one, ensuring the latch is oriented correctly. Turn on the circuit breaker after you put everything back together. Remember to always check your parts before you order as well as when they arrive. In addition to being expensive, installing a brand-new dishwasher takes an extended period of time. It was merely a matter of disconnecting the power and unscrewing the door with this switch. There was water coming out of our Samsung dishwasher. Initially, we thought it was the drain, but it was the latch on the door. In the process of pricing new dishwashers, my husband watched a few Youtube videos and ordered this part.
The door was held together with 8 screws and the latch was held in with 2 screws. It took him less than 10 minutes to do. He's not used to doing this sort of thing, but he took care of it just fine. I have no complaints about the dishwasher. Those of us who own dishwashers were more than happy to avoid purchasing one.

The two are not compatible with the Samsung dishwasher model DW80J3020US. As a result, we recently purchased a new dishwasher, and will not be purchasing any more Samsung appliances going forward.
