Product Description

During prolonged use on slippery, icy surfaces, these traction cleats provide superior traction to shoes and boots by minimizing the risk of slipping.
A TIG welded frame ensures that the steel links will be durable, even in the roughest conditions they have 90-degree edges that bite
With its low-profile ladder pattern design, the tread provides enhanced heel-to-toe grip without adding much bulk, ensuring a slip-free walk
A natural rubber sling retains its elastic nature even in sub-zero temperatures it is easy to put on and remove
The pair of insulated boots is sold as a pair and comes in sizes S, M, L, and XL to fit most shoes and boots. Add one shoe size to fit regular boots, and two shoe sizes to fit insulated boots

Questions & Answers

Should it be a 7 for ladies or a 7 for men?

LG may be required if you have a serious winter boot (for ice fishing or snowmobiling) like a Baffin IceBreaker. A woman wearing LG Yaktrax measures 8 in Baffins and 10 in Baffins. She wears a MD Yaktrax for smaller winter boots since she is 7 1/2.

Is an XL large enough to fit over a men's ?

With just a little bit of room left over, they'd fit over a size 13 Muck Wetlands boot. You might have a chance of competing if you have the right sole size.

Do you think a large would fit me if I am a men's size 10? How are you?

My shoe size is 11 and the large works perfectly for me. As far as I know, they would be compatible with You should be able to hold the chain links tight on your shoe thanks to the rubber that connects them. It is unfortunately up to you to decide if it is worth the effort. This is a product I highly recommend.

When ordering men's size 8 1/2, what is the proper size to order?

A large size.

From the original Yaktrax, a great improvement has been made
5/5

For many years, my wife and I have relied on the original spring style Yaktrax. We live in Jackson, Wyoming, and walk three miles a day The traction devices we use in winter are a thing of the past since we drive 4 miles a day in the snow. They have a couple of problems in their original form. The spring break is the first thing to consider If the rubber underfoot breaks, the shoe will fall off. Secondly, when walking in snow or ice it's fantastic, but on hard surfaces such as paved roads or sidewalks the springs become unstable and tall. Often I would feel the need to remove the yaks when I was on a hard surface. There is no doubt that these new chain yaks are solving They are very nice and I expect they will last for a long time before they wear My only suggestion would be to add a retention strap like the pro model on the originals so they can better hold on to the cable when climbing or descending in rougher terrain. Behind our house is a mountain called Snow King Mountain.

The design is better and the process of putting it on is easier
5/5

The first thing to consider is the size. I have a size 11 foot. The XL are maybe a touch big on my hiking boots (tall boots), but I would not consider going These get 5 stars from me both because of the improved design and because they are easy to put on and take This style is bolted on and I anticipate will last far longer than the old jointing (twisted wire around a springy band). They seem to be just as effective on ice and they are also much easier to walk on when they are not coated in ice. Besides being far easier to put on, they're also far more comfortable.

This is a great product for sidewalks that are not completely covered in snow and ice
5/5

These are absolutely amazing. This kind of device becomes a life saver when traveling through snow and ice. Snow boots are an option. However, the trouble is that once you reach 15 feet, snow boots become hard to find or are the most expensive option. Another thing I like about these is that it is really hard to find a pair that fits on my shoes, but these are perfect. The cane gives me confidence to walk in weather conditions without fear of missing a spot. I am blind and can feel where ice is from my cane if it is cold enough, but I tend to miss a spot too often and these devices help me avoid this.

You can leave ice in place and walk on bare pavement in no time
5/5

There is a great deal of comfort with the chains The dogs I have are medium-sized, and I take them for walks every day. One of the pathways at my local park is paved and windes its way through a number of trees inhabited by As long as I'm not paying attention, one or both of the dogs will start running toward the squirrels, providing me with a shocking shock when their leashes extend. I can have a pretty exciting walk when I'm walking on a slick surface. It is a size 11 shoe and the Yaktrax I purchased recently are the large size. After I had worn these for the first time, I was surprised at the sense of confidence I felt standing in a frozen There is a great deal of grip provided by the chains. You can leave ice in place and walk on bare pavement in no time. There is a great deal of comfort with the chains Had I not waited so long to buy them, I would have purchased them much sooner.

Their effectiveness has been proven! A perfect match for all my hopes
5/5

On a moderately steep trail hike (2800 feet in elevation gain over four miles) to 9300 feet, I tried these out for the very first time today. In the upper third of the hike, where the trail was covered with snow and ice (from thin sheets of ice to deep snow of one to two feet), I used the chains. There was a temperature of about 45° at the summit in the winter months in Southern California. Last week, I tried to hike the same trail with crampons, and they proved overkill, so today they worked well. I'd think that if you're skiing at lower temperatures where the snow and ice are more "icy," you'd want something more secure, at least on any I still slipped sometimes, even when wearing chains, when walking on stretches of harder ice, but the chains are a huge upgrade over just boot soles when it comes to traction. No significant signs of wear or tear are visible after wearing the chains today. They work well and I am pleased with their performance. I never once caught my crampons on the other pant leg and landed flat on my face due to my crampons getting caught! The value of that alone makes it a worthwhile purchase.

I think this is an improvement over the spring model
5/5

The spring of my life This type of Yaktrax broke down after a few After it has dried, the rubber- It was rotten. They were on sale when I bought them In place of Yaktrax, type Yaktrax. These shoes are easy to put on and take off, as well as traction is excellent. These shoes have a good grip on ice, and I have not slipped once even though I have walked on bare ground. They seem to be extremely durable and I have not slipped since I got them.

They seem to work okay
4/5

The boots I got for my son in winter are perfect for him since he walks a lot outside. After slipping and sliding every which way, he told me that he was tired of it. He says they work quite well, much better on bare ice than on snow-covered ice, since the chains get a better grip without the snow, but that they are still quite OK when they are covered with snow. only take a minute to put on and take off - he can put them on and off almost simultaneously. It is easy to store them flat, so for the remainder of the year, we should have no problem storing them. In addition to buying a pair for myself, I'm also planning to buy a pair for my friends.

The shoe needed to be a size bigger than the recommended size, but it had great traction
5/5

The Medium shoes purchased initially didn't fit in my usual shoes, let alone my snow boots, even though they were supposed to fit my women's shoe size. Women's size 9W boots fit fine in a large, and there is still room for a shoe size or two more. The reason for these is that the door to door delivery of goods would require me to walk on both icy and cleared areas. Thus far, I've used them in three snow/ice storms, and they've always performed well. Only caution to be advised is they do tend to be a bit slippery on wet but clear concrete, but not enough to require me to keep taking them off and putting them back Likewise, they seem to be holding up well so far. The chains do not appear to be worn out or stretched out. For each use, I gently rinse them, wring them out, and pat them dry before hanging them to dry.
