Having already owned the Maxx1 and the Maxx2 stabilizers, this is my second set of stabilizers. Unlike the shoes, the cleats are not cross compatible, forcing you to buy new ones The club's plan is to buy new replacement cleats (which will cost much more now than before). The cleats can no longer be tightened by a simple screwdriver type tool and need to be tightened with a socket wrench. Shop around to find the best price. It is inconvenient to have when hiking. Compared to the original cleats, these seem more susceptible to losing or falling out. When the cleats arrive, they are quite loose and will lose a number if they are not tightened before use. There is no proper sizing of them, so if you are not the largest size in your category, there will be some play and overhang (e. g.
During the summer of 2000, I spent five months at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Any employee working there had the option to choose from three different removable ice cleat types. I preferred the STABILicers, because they prevented me from slipping more than the other two. The others might have been better suited for deeper snow, but I never slipped on them. These other products had spikes that looked like thumbtacks (spikes) sticking out of the bottom of the sole, and these didn't work as well for solid ice. This grip design makes the STABILicer super comfortable to sit on, and I trusted it enough to buy my father a pair in the winter, so he will keep his feet warm. This is a great option for anyone who is afraid of slipping on ice in a cold parking lot after a big snow fall. Keeping your feet on the ground is easier with these. It's likely I could even run on ice if I wanted, but I don't want to Then you're just being.
Almost immediately after a big ice and snowstorm, I bought these Once the city glazed over it became too cold to walk. I opted for a rainstorm instead. I found it easy to open the small plastic bag in which they came. It was simple to put them on, you just had to undo the Velcro and place your shoe inside, then re-do The spikes will scratch floors, especially wood, so make sure you take them off and on at the door instead of leaving them on all day. In walking around, I felt that my footsteps would be heard 30 feet away due to the crunching of these cleats. In spite of walking on carpets, marble floors, light snow, ice, and concrete, the crunching was loud, no matter how light my step. When I stepped onto concrete tiles in a store, the crunch had somewhat ceased. Overall, it works well, but don't expect to become a ninja, sleuth, spy, or do anything else that requires discretion.
Since I started running a couple years ago, I have tried a variety of boot traction brands in the $20 range, most of which have been adequate. A little bit, but not that great The only ones that have lasted even a season are the ones that have not lasted. That's why I was so delighted when I found a heavy-duty bag These cleats have been proven to provide maximum stability and durability in the most treacherous of conditions. I switched to these cleats after a deep freeze turned my driveway into a thick sheet of ice, and it became a dangerous task to run the snowblower. There was a noticeable difference between that brand and the cheaper ones (which had me slipping and sliding earlier that morning). Feeling more secure about my footing made me feel instantly more comfortable. The soles of these traction devices are made from heavy rigid platforms, and as a result, I was worried that they would be stiff and awkward to walk on. I do feel like they are a little stiffer than shoe traction products that are completely flexible, like Yaktracks. However, it is not enough to bother me. I can walk more confidently and aggressively in them, especially since I don't have to use my hands. The platform is also hefty, due to its size If they are made of thick strapping (as opposed to thin rubber bands which typically break after a month or two), I wouldn't be surprised if they lasted for many very notable feature is that these are of substantial size - three inches wide by There is hook and loop strapping on these traction devices that actually ensures they are in place. A knee-striker will let you walk for a long time There's no need to worry about losing one of them in deep snow. Approximately $60 is a bit of a hefty price tag for this product, so I am rating it four stars instead of five. Additionally, I would let you know that the sizing is particularly tricky for heavy boots, since they vary so much in length and width. It is unlikely that there can be a lot of error with the sole design. The way you will determine what size to buy is by tracing back and forth the outline of the boots you will use these with, measuring from front to back and from side to side, and then going through Stabilicer's helpful customer service representatives with this information.
The Mid-term elections were held this year Due to the freezing and thawing of West Winter, there has been a lot of ice. A mile of walking with my dog almost every day takes several hours. The Yaks were worn out and these were purchased to replace them. A popular brand of spikes would not fit in my boots due to stretched rubber. I walked these Stabilicers over varied terrain on bare sidewalks, raw ice, and packed and loose snow this morning after they were delivered yesterday. This worked great for me. It was only when walking along the side of a hill that I slipped, and only because my Stabilicers and boots had no traction on the side. All new buyers should be sure to tighten down their cleats with a socket or nut driver before they use them. In my initial review and rating, I'm giving four stars and will modify my comments after I've used the product for a few weeks. The reason my reviewer docked a star was because of the cons listed below and that mine did not come with the reflective straps that are shown in the description. The pros are These cleats have excellent traction, can be used on multiple pairs of boots, have velcro straps so they are easy to secure and release, have dual straps at the front of the boot which provide stability, and certainly designed to fit The cons are There were several problems with my pair of Stabilicers the straps were not reflective as shown in the photos, the rubber base toe strap retainer flipped inward when the strap was snugged down (see photo), and they were heavier than the slip-on version. They are supposed to be used on grippers, but they appear to be made.
