Questions & Answers
The Mr. Grippy ski tuning stand is sold in a set of two. As a result, it's ready to tune your skis or snowboard right away!
When I'm trying to do base edge work, I find that the board isn't very stable. The top is far too narrow for most boards if they are set up one way. If you arrange them the other way around, the tops are rounded on both sides, causing the board to rock. br> When putting the board in the slots to do side edge work, I discovered that the slats aren't wide enough to hold the board securely.

After reading the reviews, I chose this particular set of stands. I'm glad I took the opportunity. They're wide and stable, which makes them ideal for skiboards. These skis are short and fat, making them a lot more fun than traditional skis. I have a small workshop, and they fit perfectly. br>br>I like that they don't require the use of a vise to set up and take down. You simply stack them one on top of the other and quickly store them. You can also use your skiboards or skis to edging by turning them on their sides. I like these stands so much that I sent RVL8, the skiboard company that made the ones in the photo I attached to this review, a review and the above photo.
I had high hopes for the Mr. Grippy, as I had for several other recent reviews, but it came with two large cracks in one of the pedestals. This is unacceptable for a couple of pieces of plastic and rubber that cost nearly $100. I can't imagine they'll be much use for repeated waxes if they're too fragile to ship. I'll be going back and purchasing a vice/table setup, as I should have done the first time around. Bummer.
This item came up when I was looking for snowboard wax stands. As a result, I didn't blame them for my failure to read the description. br>They fit my daughter's skis perfectly. I gave it four stars because the stands will skid if the wax starts flying. It's also difficult to get rid of the wax for the rubber ant. Pads that prevent slippage These stands don't work well with snowboards. br>br> They'll get the job done in a pinch, but they're too wide for the snowboard. When you apply pressure to the board's edges, it tends to fall off the stand.
The Norwegians have it down to a science. Mr. Grippy (okay, the name is a little ridiculous) is AMAZING, and yes! , grippy. Avoid ski vices, skis that come out of the filing process, and metal vices that scratch your polished ski bases and edges. On any surface, Mr. Grippy will keep your skis in place. It's simple to wax and tune thanks to this feature. Great for race skis as well as fatter powder skis! Your skis will be protected by the plastic and rubber surfaces. With a little alcohol, it's simple to clean up. Added advantage - light and simple to transport - One fits inside the other, and you can also store other items inside. These vice substitutes are fantastic! Mt. Hood Ski Academy is a ski school in Hood, Washington.
My first order came with one of the stands cracked. When I requested a replacement, both of the replacement stands arrived cracked. A little aggravating.
Mr. Grippy's tuning stand set is ideal for the on-the-go skier who never knows when he or she will need to grab a pair of skis and get some work done. I compete in freestyle skiing and have found myself in numerous situations where I needed to wax my skis for a competition but lacked the necessary equipment or space. That's where Mr. Grippy takes the stage. The set is small enough to fit in your ski bag and is easy to pack. So, when I need to scrape my skis on the fly, I pull out the Mr. Grippys and get the job done quickly and efficiently. I also use them at home; I keep them on my shelf but pull them out and place them on my workbench whenever I need to work on my skis because they are so small but function as a full ski vice. And when the ski season is over, I won't have a large ski vice taking up valuable garage space. Excellent product!.
It works fine, but you'll have a hard time getting any wax off of it.
Grippy is a great product that I use in my professional wax shop. In Colorado, I own and operate a ski waxing business. I bought a couple of Mr. Grippy's for our new location, thinking they'd be temporary while we built it. Now it's been a year, and I've built my wax station around them! Waxing of over 1000 skis and boards They're still as good as new despite having been edged. Because I didn't have to worry about connecting traditional ski was vices to the table side, I was able to use a nice thick table to work on. The table I use is an old dining room table with a varnished finish, and they don't move around at all! Plus, I can easily move them around to fit everything from large men's powder skis to small children's beginner snowboards. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Grippy! They'll be more than sufficient for the average skier if they're good enough for me!.
