The helmet, as you can see in the photo, is excessive. When you put your goggles on, the helmet's rim presses down on them, putting a lot of pressure on your nose. I began by simply lifting the helmet's rim. It digs into the back of my neck, as you can see in the photo (middle helmet). I got four days of snowboarding out of it, but I wouldn't use it again. I did my homework and concluded that this was the best option, but it was not for me.
My teen son had a recent sledding accident that resulted in a knockout, seizure, a call for EMTs from some very resourceful CPR life-saving trained friends (my heroes), a night in the ER, and terrified parents (us). We weren't sure if he'd have any long-term effects, but he did, and we vowed he'd never sled without a helmet again! We came across this one. We got goggles as well because there's a hook on the back of the helmet to hook them on and keep them in place, and he says it's comfortable and fits well with good adjusting and padding inside. They work well in Alaska, where there is a lot of snow and the weather is very windy. We're thrilled to have this helmet, and we particularly like the bright blue color because it's dark here in the winter, and we want our son to stand out against the snow. The drawstring helmet carry bag was a pleasant surprise and useful addition. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful purchase at such a reasonable price.
This is a fashionable helmet for our newest snowboarder. It was a perfect fit for us, and we all liked the shape. The tightener knob is located on the back of this helmet, as is the case with all helmets. It also comes with a goggles holder, but ours broke after only three days on the slopes. Instead of the hard plastic holder, I'd prefer a flexible plastic to hold the goggles in the back. The plastic, I believe, became too cold and broke. Even so, it's an excellent helmet.
I really like this helmet; it's very comfortable, and the size is accurate (I measured everything). The only reason I returned it was because, contrary to what the description says and what other reviewers have said, the ear pads are not removable. I'm guessing they changed the design at some point and it's now impossible to get rid of them. I ski/snowboard in a hot climate, so ear protection would be excessive.
Skier who is learning to ski. Ski helmets were not common when I was a kid skiing in the 1980s and 1990s. In the 1990s, I noticed that small children were beginning to wear them, but they were not a part of an adult's ski outfit unless you were doing some fairly dangerous back-country skiing. Skiing in the country. As a result, I never skied with a helmet on. I hadn't skied in over a decade due to financial constraints and the fact that I was living in NYC without a car, far from any slopes. Thanks to a holiday gift ski pass, some rare free time during the holidays, and a family car I could borrow, I finally got a chance to hit the slopes this winter. br>br>As I was researching to update my very out-of-date website, I noticed that adults now seem to wear helmets, despite the fact that I was out of date and had worn ski gear for my trip. I'm not sure if this is because the little kids I saw in the 1990s grew up wearing ski helmets and simply continued to wear them as they grew older because they were accustomed to them, or if it's because of a widely publicized ski-related accident. People became more aware of the dangers as a result of related head injuries, but either way, it seemed like a good shift in ski culture toward better safety precautions, so I figured I should follow suit, especially since I was well aware of how out of practice I had become. br>br>I almost didn't buy a helmet, but I was fortunate enough to find a great rebate offer for this helmet through Rebate Key, so I decided to buy it instead of renting one with my ski rental. I was initially concerned that skiing with a large helmet on my head would be inconvenient, as I had never skied with one before. When I tried it on at home, however, it was extremely comfortable, and after my first run on the slopes, I completely forgot I was wearing it. My goggles were a perfect fit and stayed in place thanks to the back clip. I also like having the option of having open or closed vents depending on the conditions. The workmanship appears to be of high quality. This helmet comes highly recommended by me to anyone looking for a low-cost, comfortable, and attractive ski helmet. With the rebate, I got a great deal, but I believe this helmet would have been well worth the money even if it hadn't been for the rebate. And because most rental shops will charge you extra for a helmet, renting your skis or board and bringing your own helmet will save you money.
It's the ideal ski helmet because it's stylish and warm. I took it up to Aspen for a week and it worked flawlessly with just a balaclava when the temperature was between - and -. The temperature is between 6 and 32 degrees. I have a large head and it fit perfectly (the other one I ordered had to be returned because it was too small). I ski a few times a year and believe it would last long enough to save money over renting. If you plan on using it more than 10 times per year, it might be worth it to spend a little more on a premium brand. br>br>My only gripe is that the goggle strap isn't held in place very well by the hook on the back.
For the few times I used it in the winter and early spring, it worked well. When the temperature reached the 50s one day, it was not too hot, and in the 20s, it was never too cold without a layer under the helmet. I never used the audio storage slot, so I can't speak to that, but I was able to fine-tune the fit to perfection - I stayed in the same position for several days in a row and did not move. It appears to be capable of adequately safeguarding my coconut - But, thankfully, I haven't had the opportunity to put that theory to the test.
This helmet is absolutely fantastic! I went skiing for the first time, and I didn't want to put my head in someone else's helmet, but I also didn't want to spend too much money in case I didn't enjoy it. This helmet fits my head perfectly thanks to the dial adjustment. My head and ears were kept toasty warm thanks to it. It isn't overly substantial. I would highly recommend this product, which I have already upgraded with a GoPro camera mount and a Bluetooth communicator!.
