A large fits me well because I wear a 7 1/2 hat size. I'd suggest making a mistake with the large size. Balaclavas are also something I wear.
Ski/snowboard helmet is what it says on the tin. However, because of the colder climate, a ski or snowboard helmet covers the ears. Skateboard helmets are single-impact, whereas ski and snowboard helmets are multi-impact. Ski and snowboard helmets cover the forehead, back of neck, and ears, whereas skateboard helmets do not. Before making a purchase, it is best to do some research on the differences. Because I only ski downhill, I need a ski helmet.

It's well worth the money. I just received this helmet and have yet to put it to use, but it already appears to be a superior helmet. I was under no obligation to replace my current RED helmet, but I'm glad I did. This helmet has the BOA fit system for the back of the head, a lever at the top to open or close the air vent, and a comfortable strap that appears to use a simple snap almost magnetic system rather than the traditional latch, which can be cumbersome with gloves. Simply measure the crown of your head and use the sizing chart in the long description to choose between sm, md, and lg sizes. lg. It comes with a drawstring bag to store the helmet, but I wish it came with an extra set of ear pads. There's also a brim included. Earpads that work with cup audio are included. I'm ecstatic to have received this.
I thought I had a big head, but I ordered a Medium based on their size chart, and it fits perfectly, even with a hoodie underneath. The magnetic clips are simple to put on and take off even with gloves on. br>br>It also appears to be made for my Flight Deck XM goggles, which are a good-looking pair of goggles. In case I had a different sized pair of boots, a different helmet brim was provided. If you don't want to wear a hoodie underneath but don't want to stink up your new helmet, there is a padded removable Velcro insert that you can easily pull out and wash. On the back of the helmet, there is an adjustment knob that you can turn to tighten or loosen the fit around your head. It also includes a protective bag in which to store your helmet when not in use. It's a little bulky, but as a ski helmet, you want it to be able to absorb as much impact as possible. br>br> It also has a second shell (ABS) that wraps around the front and sides to protect your skull from major impacts and provide penetration resistance.
I haven't used it yet on the mountain, but I have a feeling it'll be hot! With almost no fap, my Anon Snyc goggles fit perfectly over the helmet. The magnetic clip will take some getting used to, but it is also very nice. br>br>Edit: The helmet remains a five-star product. It's perfect for me, though it could be a little smaller. I ordered the large and had to fully tighten the BOA system, but it still fits well. Warm, comfortable, and works well with my anon goggles when the vents are open. The magenta buckle is a unique design element. The ear muffs are a little strange at first because they feel like over-the-ear headphones, but they are very warm and comfortable.
My 14-year-old daughter was the recipient of this gift. It's something she really enjoys. It's a great deal of weight. The weather is pleasant. The padding on the inside is soft and comfortable. She was smitten with the appearance. Under the visor, the goggles are a perfect fit. Changing the settings was simple. The chin strap clasp is the only flaw. It's not bad; it's just different, and it takes a little getting used to, but it's flat and won't pinch. It's a little strange at first, but after a day or two of use, even with gloves on, it's easy to release.
This is the first snowboard helmet I've ever purchased because I didn't want to be weighed down on the slopes by a heavy helmet. I can tell you right away after putting this on that I won't have any problems with it because it's very light and comfortable! The only criticism I have is that it appears a little bulky on my already large head, but I don't mind as long as it protects my cranium.
