At REI, I tried on the same helmet, but it felt different. The ear pads were more comfortable to wear, and the adjustment knob and overall fit were also improved. The helmet I purchased on Amazon appeared to be unique: Stitches that were not as tight, stray threads, stray foam, a strange crust on the top airflow mechanism, and a damaged box Is there a problem with smith's or Amazon's quality control? There appear to be an increasing number of fake products and counterfeits on the market. I recently discovered that Amazon does not conduct quality control and will advertise a product as belonging to a specific brand even if it is sold by a third party. I'd exercise caution, particularly when it comes to safety equipment.
Smith I compared the Giro Ceva MIPS to the Smith Mirage because I was looking for a white, venting, adjustable MIPS bike. They're almost identical. The Smith ear muffs are thicker and go all the way to my jaw bone (making them warmer), but the GIRO has better forehead padding and fits better. If weight is important to you, I weighed the two and found the Smith to be 5 oz lighter. My Smith googles go well with both of them.
This snow helmet has a great color and design. The vent can be adjusted, and MIPS protection is included. It's a perfect fit for my wife's head. I have one of the mission men's helmets, and it is identical to the one I have. The women's helmet includes a plush furry pad for added comfort. We usually wear a medium size helmet for biking or other sports, but we decided to go with a large size because it better fits our heads.
This helmet cost $300 and was seen by my daughter in our local ski shop. However, it was half the price on Amazon and well worth the money. It protects her from the elements and keeps her head warm.
I bought this to replace my Smith Holt, which I'd had for about 8 years. I've had a few minor spills in it and decided it was time for a new helmet due to its age and the number of minor impacts. br>br>It's hard for me to believe how light this new style is! It also comes with MIPS technology, which is designed to help with rotational concussions. For skiing or snowboarding, I highly recommend this helmet!.
This is what I bought for my winter cycling. It hasn't been bitterly cold yet, but it has been in the upper 30s when I've been riding. It's warm and cozy, and I think adding a Balaclava when it gets really cold will be ideal for the upcoming cold. The ear covering in particular appeals to me. It's very relaxing.
Even though I initially thought it was a little too big, it fit perfectly once I put my goggles on. It was extremely relaxing and warm. It did get hot while skiing, and the vents kept me cool on those hot days. I'd tell anyone about the brand and the fit. I went for a medium because the smalls were a little too tight in the store.
This is an excellent winter skiing helmet! My ears do not become cold. The padded strap makes it very comfortable to wear on your head and under your chin.
