First and foremost, I was under the impression that I had purchased a MIPS GYRO LEDGE helmet. However, there is no indication that it is a MIPS helmet anywhere on the physical helmet or on the box/label description. Second: On the label, it says it costs $70, but I paid $85.
It is well protected, warm for a while, but a little on the tight side. I've fallen a few times, and the only visible damage is a scratch on the front right that took the paint off, which isn't particularly noticeable and most likely occurred after colliding with some low branches. Spend the extra money on this over other, less expensive helmets if you want to be sure you're protected.
I went to a ski resort and brought my Pristine Giro helmet with me for my first time snowboarding. I will say, I did fall and lose balance frequently, and there were two instances where I have to say, this Helmet saved me from serious head injury. I fell, gave myself some time to recover, and then got back to it, and I will conclude that my first day couldn't have gone any better, without this comfortable, warm, and sturdy battle proven helmet, highly recommended and completely satisfied! I can't wait to go again, and I'll be sure to bring this Helmet with me when I do!.
My first warm-up run ended in a fall, and it was a hard one. Everything hurt except my head as I was going toeside down a blue and skidded on some ice, slamming my tailbone, wrist, and head into the ice. I was completely satisfied with the results. The paint on it scratches easily, but it's a perfect fit, does exactly what I needed, and is reasonably priced! I've previously purchased a Giro bike helmet, so I'm familiar with the brand and would strongly recommend it.
Stripe is too short; it is too tight, and the stripe below the chin is too short. br>br>My head circumference is 56 cm. I went with the M size. It is still possible for me to put it on, but it is extremely uncomfortable. There's no way I'm going to be able to use any over-the-top the- Underneath the helmet, there is a head mask. br>br>The stripe was almost to the end when it came time to buckle up. I'm concerned that it could break down at any time. br>br>I would expect a higher quality product for this price.
I felt compelled to get my skis on and hit the slopes after moving to Colorado. I was hesitant to rent a helmet, so I decided to purchase one myself for a reasonable price. I haven't tried any of the more expensive helmets, but this one fits me well. The fit is excellent, and I have had no problems while wearing it. I've only spent about four hours in a single day, but so far everything has gone well.
Comas are a lot less time consuming. The blood flow is kept off the snow by a handy blood reservoir. Damage to the lower part of the skull, near the brain stem, is usually limited. NIPS is not protected in any way. Mine have all vanished.
I just finished a week of snowboarding in temperatures ranging from the lower teens to the lower thirties while wearing it. The helmet was extremely comfortable to wear and kept my head warm without becoming overheated. I am pleased with my purchase.
