I ordered three different cheap ski helmets from Amazon, all of which were either extremely uncomfortable, broke before I could use them, or fit poorly. I finally decided to spend a little more money and get a better helmet as a result of my frustration. I already owned a pair of Giro ski goggles that I found to be very comfortable, so I decided to purchase a helmet as well. There are no regrets on my part. It was my first time trying it out! My head was toasty warm the entire day on the slopes, even though it was 10 degrees F! I only fell once, but I hit the back of my head on the way down. It didn't hurt in the least! I was completely safe with this helmet on! I'm sure I'd have gotten a nasty bump on the back of my head if I hadn't been wearing it! It's a dream to put on - Despite having 13 piercings in my ears! I don't have a single regret, except for the fact that I didn't buy it sooner!.
UPDATE: 29th of January 2018: It's now our 5 year old boy's second season of use, and it's still going strong! br>br>This Giro Crue helmet in size XS is perfect for our 4-year-old son - His head is approximately 49cm in length. And, hopefully, it will serve him well for the next two years. Repositioning of the inner plastic frame, which is secured into integrated slots hidden beneath the soft lining, is used to adjust the fit. Additionally, there is a stretchable soft strap at the back of the frame that aids in helmet security. This entire plastic frame piece is referred to as the Auto Lock 2 Fit System, and it can be removed, leaving only the soft lining attached. Velcro holds the soft lining in place, but it can also be removed for easy cleaning and washing. br>br>MIPS technology (multi-impact protection system) is included in this helmet model. impact protection system), which is essentially an additional layer of protection over and above what standard helmets can provide. br>br>It was a pleasant surprise to discover that the soft insert for the ear pads is *actually removable* - Take a look at the images provided. When the ear pads are removed, the helmet can be used as a bike, skate, or roller helmet in warmer weather. br>br>Bright yellow br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b The helmet's green neon color should be visible from a long distance and is suitable for additional customization such as stickers or stripes patterns for easy identification in a crowd of other young shredders. br>br>Given all of the above characteristics and a price tag under $50, I believe this model is the best value among all children's helmets for snow sports and other sports, thanks to the removable ear pad lining.
I'm an adult with a child's head and a rogue boyfriend, so this helmet was essential for chasing him down the slopes. I fell a few times and felt the helmet adjust to the impact; no concussions occurred, and my falls did not slow me down or put an end to my ski trips.
I received this helmet in September and have only used it to fit my daughter. It appears to be well-made, as well as being extremely comfortable and equipped with MIPS technology. This review is about a vendor who delivered exactly what they said they would: Thank you for sending me a brand new helmet in excellent packaging that arrived on time.
This year's version fits my two-year-old son well enough. With the adjustments, it should last a few more winters. It would be nice if the vent holes could be covered.
I really like this helmet. Even though I'm an adult, the small helmet fits me perfectly. It's on my head and I'm barely aware of it. It kept me dry in the rain and snow, wasn't too warm for spring skiing, and kept me warm on chilly, windy days. It's the best-fitting helmet I've tried on (and I've tried on a LOT of helmets), the MIPS is a great feature, and I'm glad I bought it! A fantastic purchase!.
Although the fit and finish are excellent, it is significantly heavier than the Giro Lunch (460g vs. 280g for Youth XS).
The color is fantastic, and the fit is excellent. It's a hit with my son.
