Questions & Answers
You should be fine; we used ours for two nines. Paddle boards that are 5' in length. The only issue I had was with the car roof bending slightly as I tightened everything down. After being released, it reappeared with no lasting deformation, but it's something to think about.
This is for vehicles that do not have roof racks.

I needed something for a weekend trip but didn't want to spend the money on a proper rack system. On a 2015 Lancer at 40 mph, I carried two 25 pound paddle boards. After cinching down nice and tight for about four hours, my roof bent in a bit, but it popped right back out with no visible permanent damage after removing the boards. A few pieces of pool noodle wedged in different places can help. Higher speeds and bumpy roads caused the boards to bounce a little, but a single line of paracord across the front of the boards worked wonders to keep the bouncing at bay. I simply tied it to the front strap on top of the boards from somewhere under the hood. Straps, buckles, and the material used to wrap the foam all appear to be of good quality, and I expect them to last a long time. The straps are nicely reinforced where they meet. Throughout the journey, nothing shifted or slipped. This was an excellent solution for a weekend trip, but it will never be able to replace a proper rack system. If you have the financial means, I would recommend making the investment, but this is a good, less expensive, temporary alternative.
I used it to mount a paddle boat to the back of my Chevy Spark. It looked ridiculous, but it worked perfectly and left no trace. I wouldn't use it for anything too heavy, and they could be a little wider, but they did the job for me, so it gets 5 stars. This is an excellent low-cost alternative.
