On the outside of the jacket, it will keep you dry, but you will sweat profusely. It has the added benefit of repelling beach sand like Teflon. If you live in a cooler climate, you can probably get away with it, but it is not recommended for temperatures above 65 or 70 degrees.
The adjustment areas (neck and sleeves) are made of neoprene, which gives the jacket a nice look. The only drawback is the jacket's noise (which is a little "crunchy," LOL), but we can live with it because it's all part of the waterproofing system. We are confident that this jacket will fulfill our requirements. Arrived a few minutes earlier than expected. Thank you very much!.
Unfortunately, it's just ok; it's a little big around the waist, which makes it difficult to kind of seal it up, but it gets the job done. It would be nice if the waist had the same'seals' as the neck and arms. It'd be ideal then.
The jacket is waterproof and has neoprene cuffs and a neck that can be adjusted. It's the only jacket on the market that can do so. The jacket's bottom is only drawstringed, which is unfortunate. With the exception of the bottom closure, this is a good jacket for kayaking.
This splash jacket left me unimpressed. I have a NRS splash jacket that I adore, and when I saw this, I knew it was the perfect gift for my boyfriend. It's hard to believe it's an NRS product; the material is dreadful, cheap, and lacks give--a trash bag would suffice!.
I'll be paddling in the SF Bay tomorrow with this jacket. All of the seams appear to be taped, so the wind should be kept out.
