Questions & Answers

Is the latex used for the internal damns?

No, it's not latex (I have a dry suit, so I know how latex feels), and I'm not sure what the material is, but I'm guessing it's some kind of thin rubber. This suit is very nice.

Is there a back zipper or does it go across the shoulder?

Hello, and thank you for contacting me with your inquiry. The zipper runs from shoulder to shoulder and is located in the front of the garment. Thank you, br>Divemaster Chrisbr>866- 728- 2293br>Onlinescuba is a website that provides information about scuba diving in the United States.

Very convenient for self-catering and, of course, very comfortable
5/5

I'll never buy another wet suit or semi-dry suit. I've owned four wetsuits from four different well-known brands, and none of them compare to this one. Hollis was very meticulous in his work. This suit is made of neoprene in thicknesses of 8 mm, 7 mm, and 6 mm, with a Hollis lava skin core and arm and leg baffles. In my opinion, the freedom of movement and comfort level are unrivaled. Very warm, very comfortable, and relatively simple self-dining. It took some practice to get the shoulder and hood sections of the jacket over your head for the first time. However, by the second or third time, it had become second nature. For the first few times, pulling the front zipper across was difficult. That was easily fixed with a little silicone grease. The thigh pockets come in handy. Anything you don't want dangling from you, such as gloves, real estate, and so on. D rings on the inside of the side of the thigh pockets are very convenient for connecting items you don't want to float away when you open the large pocket. I personally keep a spare mask in one side and my finger real and dsmb in the other.

The sizing chart is too small to be useful
4/5

If you know what size suit you wear, go ahead and add a little more to this one. br>I've been diving for over 40 years, and I've noticed that your body changes over time, both for the better and for the worse. br>These are the best off-the-rack suits I own right now. If you buy a size up, it'll be tough, warm, and easy to put on. br>I'm 5'11" and 223 pounds, and I wear a 3XL (which I despise because it's made in China). br>My 12-year-old son is 5'4" and wears a Large just to fit into it. (chart size reads M)(again, made in China)br>These suits are excellent for cold water and underwater work. Hollis makes excellent diving equipment that is appropriate for Tech. diving.

It's a wetsuit, not a drysuit, but it's a nice wetsuit Wetsuit is really nice
4/5

It's not even close to being a drysuit. br>Water slowly creeps in and is held close to you, warming your body. I spent an hour in a northern California creek where the water is currently liquid ice, and all of my exposed skin, with the exception of my head, was relatively warm. This wetsuit's hood isn't as thick as the others. br>Nice suit, but I think $300 is the most it's worth.

Warm and cozy, but don't put your trust in the pockets or you'll lose your belongings
4/5

There is more moisture in the air than there is in the ground. This wet suit is soft, fits well, and is simple to put on and take off. In my opinion, it is a slightly dryer wet suit, but it is still wet. Although the hood provides some face/neck seal, it leaks. The pockets on the legs, which appeared to be a great idea at first, can be easily opened. After only three days of use and ten dives, I lost a brand new SL4 LED back up light that fell out of a closed and sealed leg pocket on a night dive. The velcro that holds them closed is tearing.

The best suit of all time
5/5

BUY IT; it is well worth the investment. It's better than a drysuit, but without the hose and extra bulk that a drysuit requires. This suit kept me warm near Venice Beach in California, where I was swimming in the pacific. br>Look no further; if you try this semi-dry suit, you'll either hang your drysuit and forget about it, or you'll toss it in the garage and let it rot. Purchase this amazing suit as a gift to yourself. Later on, you'll be able to thank me. cheersbr>br>this suit will put the drysuits out of business;.

Suit is fantastic
5/5

I maintain a comfortable temperature. I weigh 158 pounds and stand 5' 11" tall. I'm a little tall for the suit, but I hoped it would stretch out a little after I tried it on at home. br>br>I'm a cave diver, and I can't tell you how happy I am after 25 dives this summer in Mexico. The water isn't particularly cold (78 degrees), but I get chilled easily, especially after a few days of diving with dives lasting up to two hours. Even at the end of the trip, the suit performed admirably: minimal wear and tear (cave suits wear out quickly, and I prefer tight holes to squeeze through), pockets appear to be in an ideal location for me to reach with sidemount tanks, and the hood kept my head warm. My only complaint is that one of my leg seals ripped and I had to aqua seal it; otherwise, I would buy this suit again.

Suit is very warm
5/5

This Hollis semi-dry suit is well worth the investment. It has kept me warm in water as cold as 50 degrees Fahrenheit and even hot at times. This is the solution if you need a cold water suit but don't want to pay for a dry suit. This is the most comfortable suit I've ever owned in my 15 years of diving. The only drawback is that you can't zip it up by yourself. You'll need a partner to help you zip it up. For those who do not want to be cold, I recommend this suit.

Probably the best semi-semi-semi-sem For the money, it's hot out there
5/5

I just got my second Hollis NeoTek Semi-Automatic. It's completely dry (V2 now, size XLS), and it's ideal for my type of diving. It's extremely comfortable, fits perfectly, and keeps me warm even when diving a local quarry in the dead of winter. The first one (V1 size L) is still in my possession, but the zipper broke after almost five years of daily use.
