Rust is inevitable.
The velcro wraps around the paddle after it has been opened. They're also very effective.
I do have a paddleboard that I tow behind me. A carabiner, rather than that.
If folded over like it should be, the length from the tip of the "D" ring to the bottom is approximately 4 1/2 inches.

But this is one of my favorites for two reasons. One, obviously, to keep my paddle attached to my board; I've anchored my board off shore and tucked my paddle under my deck netting on more than one occasion, only to have to go for a swim later to retrieve my lost paddle. However, a bonus benefit is that it allows me to carry my paddle board by holding the paddle (if centered properly to achieve proper weight distribution) rather than the center strap, which, as you may know, can be quite taxing on the hands and fingers. This relieves a lot of the stress, making it a little easier to carry my board down the long path to my local beach.
I tried a few different products to keep my paddle attached to my board, but they all had far too long cords to be practical. When I'm transporting my paddleboard between the car and the water, these keep the paddle exactly where I want it. br>I also found a fantastic hidden application for these. Once your board is in the water and your paddle straps are no longer needed; They're great for securing your flip flops to your board, and they'll be a must-have for future trips.
I teach SUP Yoga classes and ordered a pair of these for each board in my SUP fleet to keep paddles secure during yoga practice. br>They work well, but one has already broken after only a few uses. The plastic holding the velcro strap had separated from the base piece. As the school year progresses, I'm concerned that more of them will be affected. br>We're practicing on flat water with the paddles laid perpendicular to the board's nose, with no active stress on the paddle holders because the paddles aren't dragging in the water. br>I'm hoping it was just a single defective item that the seller could replace.
I was a little disappointed that this was just the straps, with no way to connect them to the board. br>When I went back to look at the pictures in the listing, I noticed that it saidbr>"No D ring patch!" "br>br>Then I wondered, 'What exactly does that mean?' And then I realized that's how they refer to it. br>br>My apologies, but the product arrived on time. I finally have a name for the things that hold the straps to the board.
These are great for paddlers, but they can also be linked together to form small flotillas. When parked side by side. br>Another great use is to keep your shoes/flip flops in case you venture into areas where shoes are required.
They're easy to put on and stay on because they attach to the D rings; they're just a little longer than I expected and have a lot of velcro to wrap around your paddle to keep it secure. I'm not sure how to put it, but I was hoping for a more efficient and simple way to hold my paddle. It's fine if I'm going to stop and sit for a while, and it's convenient for carrying my board, but I rarely use them because they're too difficult to attach and undo.
The product is fantastic!! These were purchased for my best friend and me to use as paddleboard paddles. In the water, there's a lot going on. One is losing track of a paddle (not all paddles float indefinitely). These help to keep things safe. When we're relaxing or doing yoga, our paddles hang just to the side of where they're supposed to be. They fit perfectly because we already have D rings on our SUPs. So far, I give it a five star rating. We've already used them a few times and find them to be quite durable; There are no problems, and they are fantastic! This is a wonderful addition to our message boards. Our friends are now enquiring about it.
These clips are functional and come in a set of four. I don't care for how long they are. I've been using them recently because I've had to walk a little while with my board, and the paddle bangs against my legs as I walk with a carrying strap attached to the d-ring. On my iSUP, I've got a ring. I'll continue to work on them in order to reduce the length of time spent holding a paddle. The Velcro straps keep my paddle in place well, and the build quality appears to be good.
