I have the black straps and have never had a problem with them, but they have never been wet while out in the rain.
I paid $13 for two straps. It should say one pair of straps or two straps.

This summer, we purchased a couple of stand-up paddle boards and needed a better tie-down system than ratchet straps. I was afraid I'd overdo it. I came across these straps while looking for alternatives to the ratchet strap. I didn't think they'd be able to complete the task, but I was wrong! br>br>Compared to the ratchet type, these are much easier to use by one person. When you get to the other side of the car, you put the hook on the ratchet and hope it stays in place. Wrapping the strap around the roof rack with these is simple. Walk to the other side and secure the boards in place by sliding each end of the strap over the boards. br>br>Extremely easy to use and understand. I strongly advise you to do so.
I gave these straps a one-star rating because the buckles are incorrectly labeled as "Stainless Steel. " and they obviously aren't I had my suspicions and twisted off the tab to confirm that the buckle was made of aluminum. I then used a magnet to test the pin, which confirmed my suspicions. steel. Everything in Hawaii is constantly exposed to salt, so I bought these based on the description, but they are not what they claim to be.
I bought these straps to replace the ones that came with my kayak rack. They are very nice. I like that the buckle is covered in some kind of material to prevent it from scratching your car or kayak. These straps were also purchased primarily for the extra length required to maneuver a 34" wide fishing kayak on a roof rack.
Excellent quality and timely delivery. I was concerned about the tension grip's strength (as opposed to the strength of the other grips). The ratchet strap is a type of ratchet strap that is used No problems, even in the face of 4 hours of torrential rain and gale-force winds!.
These straps have proven to be extremely effective. I use them to stow a stroller on top of my hitch-mounted "ROLA" luggage carrier. They stayed together for 1300 miles of cross-country driving. br>It comes highly recommended!.
The product is a pale orange, not yellow, as shown in the picture, so it was returned. For the price, the quality appeared to be adequate.
These straps are extremely durable and effective. On trips, I have complete trust in them to hold my kayak.
This is how I secure my kayak with these straps. They're a little longer than they need to be, but that's not a problem. The fastener is simple to use, durable, and will not slip. This was a good buy.
