These brackets are both strong and simple to put together. Because the screws that came with were inadequate, I used my own. My kayak is ten feet long, so two brackets were ideal.

Problems with the hardware

These are adequate for the job and are of good quality. The wall anchors and self-tapping screws I was given were too small to hold even close to the weight limits, and they pulled right out of the wall. For any kayak longer than 6 feet, it's a good idea to get your own hardware.
