This rack is a brilliant idea - It does help you to organize your space - It's what I use for single kayaks - Double kayaks are not permitted - It's important to remember that you'll need to lift the kayak into the rack. I 100% strongly recommend it. It comes with a screw that can be used to secure it to the ground. Which is crucial if you live in Florida, where hurricanes are a regular occurrence. "This isn't "Back to Back." On both sides, the kayaks protrude slightly from the rack.
Yes, it can be used on gravel. It should be fine given the weight of the kayaks.br>br>However, it comes with long screws so you can drill them into the ground. br>br>Excellent workmanship - Strong enough to hold two mid-size kayaks.

br>THE BEST INVESTMENT FOR OUR FLORIDA RENTALS. br>These are perfect for storing our kayaks at our Florida vacation rental. Kayaks are large and bulky, and they take up a lot of space. We didn't want to "hand" them because we'd have to attach them to the garage walls with a Hilti gun. br>I really like this rack. Assembly took a little longer due to the poor instructions, but you can figure it out if you take a photo of the rack in place.
This rack is just what I was looking for. It took me about 90 minutes to put everything together by myself. The padding and padding covers are of excellent quality, as is the material. Despite the fact that the product is manufactured in China, the instructions are simple to follow. I tightened the bolts with a ratchet set instead of the wrenches that came with the stand, which saved me a lot of time. The only thing I don't like are the little "feet" that go on each leg of the base of the stand; they are supposed to be used to bolt the stand to the floor, but since mine is sitting on the concrete floor of my garage, I have no intention of using them. Overall, this is a good-looking rack that was simple to put together. It's something I'd recommend to anyone who needs a place to store their kayak.
So, I'm not a big fan of writing reviews, but I'm going to do it for this Kayak rack. First and foremost, it is extremely well constructed. Heavy duty, and the arms where you put the kayak have a lot of padding on them, almost too much padding, but it's great where other companies would cut corners. Even better, the nylon covers that go over the padding are of higher quality! br>Now it's time to put the frame together. It's made of heavy-duty materials and is extremely durable. Because of the size of my kayaks, I assumed I'd have to zip tie it to the 4x4 posts on my deck after putting it together, but nope! The feet and legs are very well placed, and each foot has steel floor anchors that can be used to anchor to the deck or floor. I'd never owned a kayak or a kayak rack before this summer, but I know good quality when I see it, and this rack is just that- Very good quality!.
Overall, this is an excellent product that is simple to put together. I'm especially grateful for the included wrenches, which did the job perfectly. Ours, on the other hand, got past quality assurance. The threads were welded off on one of the bottom pieces. The foot and anchor could not be screwed in all the way because they were in the middle of the hole (photo). Then one of the plates on the cross bar piece was welded upside down. br>br>Unfortunately, because the kayaks had already arrived, we were in a rush to set up a stand. So, with the exception of one spot, we went without the feet to account for the crooked plate mount that tipped the whole thing. The kayaks are heavy enough that they won't move even if a cat jumps on top of them, so a little clever placement works just fine. br>br>It's the perfect size for our two 10' Pelican Mustangs. Overall, it is suggested that you read it. Just double-check all of your parts first! It would be even better if the parts were made of recyclable plastic, but alas, they are not.
Ok, it took us over 2 hours and we had to reverse pieces and pull things apart a couple of times, but it's up and running and clearly built to last. br>br>Getting the bolts out of the packaging was a challenge, and the directions aren't very clear, but we used every part, so we assume we did it right. The braces that hold the bottom to the floor are extremely useful. We haven't yet mounted the kayaks due to the rain, but the arms are low enough to the ground that we should be fine: This purchase has made me very happy.
a safe distance away I was concerned that it would take up too much space in the carport. It should make it feel claustrophobic, but it doesn't. The instructions were adequate, though a larger diagram would have been preferable. It would have been even better if the parts had been labeled, but it was still fairly simple to put together. It has enough room for two kayaks to be secured on it. I was blown away by how sturdy this unit is. Because of the reviews I read about how durable this unit is, I chose it over the cheaper alternatives. br>I own two kayaks, each measuring 12 feet long. br>Also, the arm padding is excellent and not cheap.
It was easy to follow the instructions. I'm 49 years old, and it took me about an hour to put together. It's extremely durable and strong. It has feet that you can secure to the ground, but it holds both kayaks in place without them, so I didn't bother. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, and the price was excellent considering the quality!.
