The cross-strap is quite strong. This stand works best with a boat that has a flatter bottom. I went with the other stand because it had a looser strap. It's a little more expensive, but it better holds my two-man outrigger. For the ama, I'll use these. br>br>I looked up what an outback was on the internet. It should simply sit atop these supports.
The stand has a 17-inch height to it.
My only complaint is that if you need to work on your kayak, these sit very low to the ground. I put a Hobie outback on mine and they work great.
Yes, depending on the length, I believe you could fit a tandem two-seat kayak on two of these stands. I wouldn't use it for'storage' outside, though, because a strong wind could lift or knock the kayak off. I like to use these stands to rig my outrigger before launching it, as well as to clean it after a session. For more secure storage, I use a separate system (Store your Board).

They're a little smaller than they appear in the photos, but they're still sturdy and light enough to carry around. br>- The carry bag is made of a thin netting, and I'm always afraid of ripping it while reinstalling the stands; The bag's capacity may be exceeded if it is hung with the stands inside. It's difficult to stow the stands among other items. Consider the carry bag a nice touch as a freebie (I didn't factor it into my rating)br>- You'll want your kayak stands to keep it off the ground when you're rinsing it off or hosing salt water and debris off of it. Unfortunately, the water runs down the legs of the stands and collects in the rubber feet, causing rust. So, when I'm done with the kayak, I take off the rubber feet and let them dry, as well as the metal tubing on the stand, before storing them (this is why I gave it a 4 star rating).
So far, they've performed admirably and accomplish the goals set forth: I'm keeping my OC1 from collapsing. It worked perfectly for washing my kayak and keeping the rudder from scraping the ground, and it was a good height for rigging and preparing my boat. The flex joints, however, appeared to absorb water after washing the boat on these racks. Before placing them back in the mesh bag, I had to shake them out, lay them down sideways, and let them dry.
These are excellent for holding my Hobie Outback, as well as being of excellent quality and durability. If I had to make a criticism, I'd say the only issue is that they sit low, which makes working on my kayak difficult. They're certainly sturdy, but they're a little low for a 6'2" guy who has to bend down to work on his Kayak. They fold up and store neatly when not in use due to their small size.
These are some pretty tough little stands. They were perfect for supporting my kayak while I was repairing it. However, I would have preferred something a little taller. These will also be ideal for storing my boat. They're small and light, and they come with a mesh bag for easy storage when not in use. br>I'm satisfied with them in general.
These worked; they were a little difficult to balance on their own, but they did. After examining it, I discovered an equally good and significantly less expensive way to achieve the same result: locate two camp stools. It costs half as much and accomplishes the same task. DSG - For $10, you can get a three-legged stool. It's fantastic! It is significantly less expensive.
It has a strong sense of stability. This is what I have in my garage. Drilling and installing wall or ceiling holders is not an option for me because I rent an apartment. I also like that I don't have to lift the kayak up to the wall or ceiling holders because I can simply set it on this.
My Pelican Trailblazer kayak is securely held in place by this excellent stand, which is both sturdy and light in weight.
I needed a safe place to keep it. These were discovered by me. They're fantastic, and they're simple to put together. I was able to get my kayak on them by myself with ease. My kayak is now safely tucked away in the basement of my house. I'm sure it's being stored on sturdy racks!.
