Questions & Answers
The task should not be too difficult. You'll cut the "middle" layers of foam to fit your rifle (and any accessories, such as a scope or magazine) when you first set up your case. The bottom and top layers will ostensibly remain uncut, preventing the rifle from coming into contact with the case itself. The rifle will not be able to move around inside the case due to the cut "middle layer." The foam layers are "pick and pluck," meaning they are perforated with small squares that can be removed to customize the fit to your rifle. I believe you will find this to be an excellent method of safeguarding your rifle and accessories.

Although the lid is flimsy, it is sturdy. On my travels, I trust it with my guitar, and I'd put my firearms in its hands. The latches have a buttery smooth feel to them. In comparison to more expensive models, it offers good value. I'm looking forward to seeing how it fares over time.
Overall, it's a well-made and durable case. br>The walls aren't as thick as those of a Pelican case, but they're still tough. It has a water-resistant rubber seal, four reinforced locking points, and a sturdy case. br>I'm 230 pounds, and I stood on top of the case with almost no flex. br>br>There is a pressure purge valve that operates automatically. br>br>There are only two drawbacks to this case: br>When you open the lid, it lays flat. (I prefer a 90° lid)br>And don't forget about the internal foam (3:1). 2" sheets) are solid sheets, rather than "pluck and chuck" as in a Pelican. As a result, you'll need to trace and cut out a pattern for your items.
I was taking a flight with some guns and needed a reliable, secure, hard-sided case, so I chose this one after much research. I was correct in my choice. On top of that, the case is well made, the foam is easy to cut and secures my guns well, the pushbutton latches are a nice touch, the wheels helped getting to and from the airports, the case's outer shell is very sturdy and reasonably thick, the holes for the locks have a metal insert for added security, and the pressure relief valve did its job during the flight. It's a Pelican, which should be enough to tell you everything you need to know. I highly recommend this case; I am very happy with my purchase and have no complaints.
This is an excellent case, particularly for the money. The foam density isn't quite as high as on higher-end models, but there's plenty of it all over to keep things safe and secure. The wheels are in good condition. The shell is incredibly stiff. I put a couple of eggs in it and gave it a jump test, and it worked perfectly. It's extremely secure when it's locked up.
I removed the two thin pieces of foam from the case's top and replaced them with one of the thicker pieces from the bottom. Guns, magazines, knives, and other weapons were placed in strategic locations. into the bottom of the container and shut the lid. When the top is closed, the contents are perfectly pressured and the top does not move.
However, the structure is strong enough to support my weight when closed. We'll see if the flex throws the waterproof and dust-proof claims off.
