Questions & Answers

Is this the type of foam that you pick and pluck from? Is it big enough to hold a full-sized pistol?

The type of light is that of an egg carton. The lower layer is a thick foam that is easy to pick or pluck, as the case may be. Small cuts, like little squares, have already been made in the foam. Yes, a full-size 1911 45 will easily fit. I found it to be extremely useful.

Is this case TSA-approved for carrying a firearm on a plane? The tsa locks are mentioned in the listing, but this is incorrect. Doesn't the tsa want only the owner to have access?

Yes, TSA compliant as long as you put a lock on each side so the case can't be pried open, but you're right, locks that TSA can open on their own aren't allowed to be used on cases when transporting firearms.

Is it possible to remove the foam inserts completely without the use of any tools?

Yes, all of the foam is removed.

Are these cases resistant to water? If you're going kayaking and want to keep your cigars, lighter, and cutter dry, this is the bag to bring. ?

They are, in fact, waterproof.

I was born and raised in a house that was built in the early 1900s. My parents didn't like it when I went to the gym and drank protein powder. So if they found out about my extracurricular activities I would be skinned alive. 100% smell proof, with a little assistance from other smell proof containers. Keeps everything safe and secure, as well as well-organized! Also, if you have a lot of tools, drill bits, or other gun cases around, this thing will blend in. 10/10 would recommend this product to anyone trying to cover up a stench they don't want to be seen with. Thanks for reading, and I hope this inspires someone else to enjoy their hobbies without fear of being caught.

A mirrorless camera and accessories fit perfectly in this case
5/5

I needed a tough camera case that I could trust to keep my camera dry while kayaking. My needs were met perfectly by the Pelican Storm iM2050 case. Things that fit comfortably: br>br> 1. br>br> Any lens up to the E 18–200 mm F3 on a Sony a6500 body. The lens is a 3 OSS, which is quite large.
2. If I need a good prime for landscape photography, I'll bring this along as a backup.
3. Two extra batteries are included for longer trips.
4. Extra memory cards are available.
5. The camera battery charger is housed within the 18-inch camera. The attached images show a 200 lens hood that also fits. br>br>While I don't need the charger while kayaking, it's convenient that it fits in this case if I want to bring a small camera kit on a quick trip. In general, this case is ideal for my needs. It holds even more than I expected, and the fit and finish, as with all Pelican cases, is excellent. The press-release aspect is particularly appealing to me. and-pull latches ensure that the case cannot be accidentally opened. I like the pick-up line as well. It comes with a pick-and-pluck foam. The pick- and-pluck foam made customizing the case to my specific gear a breeze, taking only about 10 minutes. Everything is snugly in place, and nothing moves around when I move the case around. I feel confident dropping the case without fear of damaging the equipment inside; it's a very secure and watertight case for sensitive camera equipment, and I'm glad I bought it. br>br>I also purchased this tether so that I could attach it to my kayak in the event of an accident, and it works perfectly for this purpose:

Great
5/5

This was ordered so that I could fly and have a firearm with me when I arrived at my destination. I can fit a full size 4 in this case. A concealed carry pistol with a 7" barrel. I cut a hole in the bottom layer of foam to hold three magazines, and I used a 1" barrel pistol. I would definitely order another one because the case is very safe and sturdy.

Foam was included in mine
5/5

This was actually a Christmas present for myself. My only concern was that a couple of reviews claimed that the cases did not include foam, which would make purchasing it separately more expensive. Mine, on the other hand, included the foam, so they appear to have resolved the issue if there was one. It appears to be sturdy and well-made; br>br> I expect it to be more than adequate for my needs. I was looking for a good, solid, super rugged case that would be suitable for air travel and all types of weather, and this case fits the bill perfectly. br>br>Because I'd never owned a Pelican case before, the latches were unfamiliar to me, so pressing the button while pulling the latch was a little strange at first, but it turned out to be easier to open than I expected, giving me confidence that it wouldn't be jostled open by accident. I chose the Pelican Storm case over the Pelican 1200 that I was also considering after reading reviews that stated that the latches on this case were a little better in that regard. br>br>I was very impressed with the quality of this case and believe it is a very good investment. Despite the fact that it appears to be a little pricey for just being a case, it appears to be well worth the money, and I expect to get many years of use out of it. I also appreciate that it is made in the United States, and I wish that more businesses took as much pride in their work as this one does in producing high-quality products that do not need to be replaced frequently. br>br>If I ever need another case like this, I would not hesitate to purchase another one similar to it and would strongly recommend it to others.

Pelican is the only brand that exists
5/5

These have come in handy on numerous trips around the world. What else can you say about pelicans? Pelican has come up with yet another fantastic product. This case adds to the collection's already large number of cases. I used to use them in the military, and they were always reliable; I even bought their luggage collection. It's difficult to put into words how fantastic they are. Keeping my guns, cameras, and other high-value items safe. For the rest of my life, I will be a pelican owner.

For a handgun, this is an excellent case
5/5

In every way, this case lives up to or surpasses my expectations. There isn't much they could do to improve it, and the price is very reasonable. I keep a handgun and two magazines in there. It comes with foam that you can easily cut to fit your needs. If your product is shallow, here's a tip: br>br> To begin, cut an outline of your product all the way through the foam (you can use a kitchen knife for this). Remove the cutout and use the Z-slicer to slice it. For my handgun, I simply cut it in half, which was about an inch in depth, in order to match the depth of the product. Re-insert the cutout, and there you have it. You have a foam cutout that isn't completely filled in.

A safe and secure environment
5/5

A large arbor saltwater fly reel and one extra spool fit perfectly in the case when laid flat. Even for a circular item, the 'pluck and pull' foam cubes work well. I'm about to put it to the test when I fly out of the country to fish the western Caribbean flats. The case is small enough to fit in my carry-on bag. on, but I'm confident that it (thousands of dollars worth of machined aluminum) won't be smashed, bent, or abused while on the plane, boat, or anywhere in between. One of the most important pieces of equipment you can't live without when you're away from home. For that type of concern, it's a pretty reasonable cost/investment. That has been the case with all of my Pelican cases. From here to there, all contents must be kept safe and secure.
