They are selective in their selections. pluck - However, there is a solid layer of foam on the bottom, and the inside lid is made of egg crate foam. I hope this has been of assistance.

Selected User Reviews For Pelican 1730 Transport Case With Foam (Black)

The case is heavy, but everything else about it is perfect, including the wheels, which make moving it a one-man job
5/5

The case is fairly heavy (the exact weight is listed in the description) and can be difficult to move up and down stairs or across terrain without wheels. This necessitates the use of two people to move it, especially if it contains equipment weighing more than 10 or 20 pounds; it is too bulky to be carried by one person. Anyone who does so runs the risk of getting hurt. There's a reason why forklifts are used to move it in the promotional videos. I would not recommend bringing this as carry-on luggage on a plane - Think about a smaller, lighter (possibly carry-on) option. Unless you're transporting large equipment that necessitates this level of protection, you should go with the (on) model. These items are made to be stored on pallets in C-stores. 130's aren't necessarily meant to be transported through commercial airports. br>br>In the harshest of humid conditions, this thing has kept moisture out of it in various parts of the North and Middle Georgia terrain. When switching environments, I've never had a problem with humidity. However, if you're going to use it in extremely humid conditions, I recommend getting the desiccation kit. I haven not had this problem storing it outside for long periods, but I haven not had to open the case in outdoor humidity over perhaps 50% due to the limited times I check As a result, I will defer to others on this subject. br>br>The case is sturdy enough for me to stand on it without it giving way in the least; the promotional videos show it being run over by a truck, and after my experience with dropping it, standing on it, and so on, I believe it could withstand that. This thing will most likely outlast me by a millennium or two. Haha. Overall, it's a fantastic case that is truly military-grade. I use it to store my most valuable, environmentally sensitive items, and I'm thinking about getting a few more for the other valuables I need to store for a long time. These cases are so durable that you could bury them in the desert and not have any problems.

Out of a possible five stars, I give this case a five
4/5

The foam is an excellent example. For heavy loads, however, this is not the case. Out of a possible five stars, I give this case a five. The foam is an excellent example. For heavy loads, however, this is not the case. This is where I should've bought Kaizen foam. br>br>CONTENTS: br>br>
- CGX German Equatorial Mount by Celestron - br> Tripod Legs for Celestronbr>- Counterweights by Celestron - Shaft for the Counterweightbr>- Various miscellaneous items (cables, control pad, and so on)br>br>Sizing is ideal for this. This is a large box that is HEAVY when fully loaded. It is, however, a work of art. br>br>I don't think the Pelican Pluck foam will last very long for these heavy loads, and it was a lot of money, so when the time comes, I'll cut up some Kaizen foam (about 25 wild bucks a sheet). br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be I had to slash about 2 minutes from the video. Each tripod leg's outer tube is 75" long, and the inner tube is about 2. Remove the tripod foot tips with a hand held torch along 25" of each inner leg (just heat the cut off tube and pull off from the tips). The glue will liquefy as a result of the heat. ) It was a straightforward process. I used an orbital sander to sand the cutoffs. br>br>Oh, and this case was chosen because it is the largest that will be accepted by airlines as oversized luggage. As a result, the tripod surgery was performed.

This is an excellent argument
5/5

This was purchased for a large-screen computer that we use at work and that needs to be moved between offices on a daily basis. Because this computer cost $30K, I needed something that was both sturdy and had a hard case, as well as something that was insulated and cushy on the inside to prevent any knocking around during the move. That's all there is to it in this case. I highly recommend this box if you have something large that requires quality storage and cutting out the foam inserts to mold to whatever you need to protect. You can also add a lock to the case for extra security.

Wheel molds are not included in the foam category
4/5

To begin, Pelican makes excellent cases, and this one will not disappoint the majority of buyers. However, a serious design flaw prevents me from using this model, as well as most other models with wheels. The bottom "pull and pluck" layer, as well as the solid bottom layer, are shown in the attached photo. The wheels are obviously molded into the case. The mold, however, is not entirely covered by the foam. As a result, fragile items will be left without support, which, while unlikely to be a major flaw for most customers, makes the case unusable for storing a telescope. br>br>Four stars because the case is still very good for most uses, just not mine; it's a great case; I'll just have to pick a different model.

This case was over $150 off because it was returned in good condition, despite the fact that it was blemished
5/5

The case was almost flawless when it arrived, with the exception of a minor scratch on the cover. It has no impact on the durability of the product. Try getting one of these Amazon Warehouse deals, they're a great deal.

Great case, holds most of my guns, and is big enough to roll around with its own wheels and handles
5/5

If you get the pluck foam, I recommend getting a few cans of Plasti Dip and painting the foam multiple times after you've plucked it to your desired setup. The foam will not pluck or degrade as a result of this.

Rugged and ideal for shipments that occur frequently
5/5

This is our third Pelican case of this size, which we'll use to transport trade show supplies to and from events where we'll be exhibiting. Very durable and useful for frequent shipments. Due to frequent use, one of the two we bought about 18 months ago had a handle break off. We bought this to replace the one that had a broken handle. Foam inserts are extremely convenient and effective. We made one to fit around our television monitor, and it keeps it safe while we're on the road. The latches are easy to open and close, and there's a place to put a travel lock to keep your belongings safe while you're traveling. This is a very tough case. Despite the fact that the handle on one of our previous cases had broken, I chose to replace it with another of the same brand. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth it.
