The 1550 is a good size as it's deep, wide, and tall enough for most gear and most of the time not too heavy loaded up to be unmanageable
5/5

There's a reason so many other companies have copied the Pelican case because it's the best. Pelican's newer models, such as the Air and others, are not as durable as the original. It's still the dependable workhorse that does the job.

Durable, safe, and excellent in appearance and functionality! I travel frequently for weeks at a time, and I frequently bring my remote control cars and helicopters with me
5/5

The cases keep everything safe and secure, and the inserts and organizers keep everything neat and organized. I can bring all of my tools/spare parts/etc. because there are so many pockets and cubbies. I'd like to be able to quickly locate any items that I might require. It's very easy to make/change the layout for whatever I need thanks to the Velcro on the ends of the dividers.

I've bought smaller units for smaller items, and they've worked out just as well
5/5

If you need to keep a valuable item safe. It's bulletproof in theory. proof. It's what I use to ship fragile hard drives across the United States. The unit is tossed around in planes but manages to keep everything secure. I've bought smaller units for smaller items, and they've worked out just as well. This is the case for you if you need to safeguard something valuable or delicate. If you need one of the insert kits, don't forget to buy one; they aren't included.

Luggage that can be used in all kinds of conditions
5/5

I use mine as luggage because other suitcases have started to fall apart after a few months, and so far it's worked out well. And when I'm traveling with others, I can throw it in the back of my truck and not worry about rain or dirt; the only drawback is that it's quite heavy! When flying, however, I can keep my weight under 50 pounds while still having everything I need. I haven't had any issues with ticket agents because of my size; I believe it's two inches larger than most airlines' checked bag limits. It has a high quality feel to it.

Overweight and obese passengers are charged extra by Southwest. 50 lbs. This case weighs 25 pounds when empty, not the "lightweight" claimed in the description.

Excellent pelican box for personal item shipments during deployment. This box complies with international shipping dimensions set forth by the post office. This, too, was crammed with clothes. necessities of life At the post office, I weighed in at zero pounds. 05 pounds less than the maximum weight! This is a box that I would strongly recommend to anyone who is planning a deployment.

My cases were beaten to death by me
5/5

So that my camera gear doesn't have to, my cases take a beating. I recently purchased some astrophotography equipment and required a new case to house it as well as the rest of my lenses and photographic equipment. The first thing I'll say is that it's a colossal undertaking. I drove it west and it only lasted two days. Because it's so heavy, I repeated the process three times. Although it has rollers, which is convenient, moving it around will require effort. I'm in decent shape, but this weighs in at around 100 pounds with the case alone weighing 35 pounds. With the head removed, this also fit my tripod. I have a Gitzo 2531ex that only fits in the case lengthwise. Get this if you want a safe and strong case for home and vehicle storage, as well as possible air travel (if you're willing to pay the overweight fee). I wouldn't take this as a field case because it's too big and heavy to carry far. I have a backpack that I use to transport the lenses and accessories I'll need for that purpose. Overall, I'm a big fan of Pelican cases, and I've gradually increased the size of my collection as my gear has grown. I can't recommend them highly enough, and I promise you won't be disappointed. If you're like me and have a lot of small items like cables, cards, filters, batteries, and an intervalometer, you should also get the lid organizer. It significantly reduces the amount of clutter in the case.

It's a sturdy case
5/5

Standing on top, it can hold up to 150 pounds. It's a sturdy case. Standing on top, it can hold up to 150 pounds. When I have to leave something important in the car, I use this to secure my belongings. Has two lock holes that can be used to add key or combination locks. There are a lot of latches, but it appears to be well-sealed. This fits my needs perfectly and has plenty of space.
