Questions & Answers

Which one is suitable for 14 g spokes? You'd think that a bike tool company would include gauges in their measurements to make this process simpler. ?

Kevin, how are you today? The issue is that spoke sizing by "gauge" refers to the wire rather than the nipple. A "14g" spoke has a diameter of 2mm in the past. Depending on the brand and size of the nipple wrench flats, we have 12 different wrenches in our line that all fit nipples used on 2mm wire spokes. This is why descriptions should avoid using the "gauge" system. We specify the size of the nipple that each wrench will fit.

I have a pair of Fulcrum Racing 5's that I use on a regular basis. Is it possible to find out what size spoke wrench will work? The colors red, green, and black are insufficiently large. Maybe a shade of blue?

I have a set of Fulcrum 5s that I purchased in 2014. The nipples are 4mm in diameter, as measured with a caliper. Maybe it'll be over soon. Like 4. 05 or 4. 10 I'm also on the lookout for a spoke wrench. So, if you come across one, please let me know. I'll continue to look and act in the same manner.

What is the origin of the shipment?

USA.

Park Tool's usual level of excellence
5/5

Park Tool is known for its high quality, and this is no exception. This is quicker and less clumsy for me than using a universal wheel. types. It can be attached to the spoke nipple directly or by sliding from the spoke to the end, which the curved loop facilitates. Furthermore, because it is a single size, it eliminates the need to search for or locate the correct size slot, which can be tedious when dealing with multiple spokes. br>br>Tip: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "in For the proper wrench size, use a decent caliper to measure your spoke nipples (not the spoke wire, by the way). I have a 2020 Jamis with 3. WTB disc wheels with 30mm nipples. Isn't it pretty modern? If I'd followed the use advice - "On modern bicycles, they're not as common" - I'd still have to guess which one I should get. br>br>What are you doing with your life if you don't have calipers in your toolbox? They're not that expensive, just. ahem. Purchase a set.

The best spoke wrenches I've found for adjusting spoke tension are these Park Tool spoke wrenches
5/5

br>br>It's easy to put on and take off, and it's far easier to work with than the other spoke wrenches, despite the fact that it occasionally slips off. It's preferable to have one that fits your wheel perfectly rather than one that comes in a variety of sizes. br>br>It's also ergonomically bent to fit, so you get used to quickly fitting it and rotating it exactly the right amount for each spoke. If Park Tool doesn't improve this design, it's not worth messing with anything else. br>br>In addition, a spoke tension gauge is required to avoid over-tensioning the spokes. the tightening At first, I assumed that simply pinging the spokes would suffice. And, yes, that will get you close enough to be useful. A spoke tension gauge, on the other hand, is necessary for dialing in the proper tension for your spoke type and maintaining consistency while loosening/tightening nearby spokes. It's a pain to use and much more expensive than this spoke wrench, but it's well worth it. (It doesn't have to be the same brand. )br>br>What I'd do differently: br>* Find a way to keep it from falling off the spoke as you turn it (the bend and plastic wrap help, but not enough)br>br>You have the impression that this process should be automated. That a spoke wrench and a tension gauge should be used together to tighten the spokes to the proper tension with just one button press. However, until that time comes, the spoke tension tool is necessary.

I'm nearing the end of my Park set
5/5

On my bikes, I build everything myself. I've built a few wheelers and continue to do my own spike replacements and trying. Depending on the spoke gauge used, the spike nipples on newer wheelers can be any size. There are other combo wrenches, but once you find the right size, you won't have to fumble around trying to refind that right slot if the combo spins to a different size, which happens quite frequently when I use that type. You won't make that irritating mistake with these color-coded ones from Park Tools.

This is a tool that you must have
5/5

I have a Rad Power bike, as well as this tool, which is color: Size: 3 | Color: Blue All Rad bikes are compatible with this 96mm diameter. It's simple to use and should be in everyone's toolbox. It's well-made and gets the job done. On an e-bike, you must inspect and maintain your spokes. bike.

The very best
5/5

I worked in a bike shop and had to use these on a daily basis. They're one-size-fits-all, but they're the most useful tool I've discovered. I've never seen one break, and I've used a few during my brief college career that have seen a lot of use. Yes, different sizes of spoke nipples exist, but that is true of most things. Try to use the same Allen wrench on every screw on a bike, and the same socket or combination wrench on all of the bolts. Heck, there were differences between model years, and yes, between bikes, during my career. It's a strange world out there at times. If you're stuck, ask a local bike shop, or bring a wheel in and show them. If you know someone who has a micrometer or a caliper gauge, they might be able to measure the nipples and tell you. In the worst-case scenario, you order the three most common sizes (the blue one is only found on high-end bikes) and return the ones that don't fit. Just be cautious. br>br> If you're not careful, you can 'taco' a wheel. You and Superman are unlikely to be able to 'fix' the wheel if it is backed over or runs out more than a fraction of an inch. It's a show-stopper to pull the nipples through the rim.

It was a perfect match
5/5

FINALLY ! br>A spoke wrench that fits perfectly on my heavy-duty cruiser bike; I'd been putting off truing the rims because I was buying crappy multi-gauge spoke wrenches that didn't fit right for one thing, and would have scratched up my spokes anyway. I didn't want to ruin the nipples by rounding them off, nor did I want to scratch my spokes. br>Now I'm ready to take on that challenge. br>Thank you for your help, Park Tool. br>This is a fantastic spoke wrench.

Although it is not my first choice, it is the best 0

Park manufactures a 13-spoke wrench that is compatible with my SW- 40 & SW- 41 is the form factor. I wish Park had released a SW-based film. 41 4- Like the Black and Red sizes, this has a two-sided version. It appears that there isn't as much demand for it as there once was. The 0. has been discovered by me. Because they're usually on the cheapest off-season, 13 nipples are more prone to stripping. I'm looking for a four-wheel drive vehicle with a specific brand of wheels. even more of a sided wrench br>br>Park, on the other hand, appears to disagree. No SW- We'll have to make do with the SW-41 because it's the only one that's available. Instead, use one. I don't own a single SW-based device. 0 or SW- 2. only the SW- The SW42 and the 40 are two of the most popular models. I work on a lot of older, battered bikes, and it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about stripping nipples as much as I used to, as long as the spoke isn't too chewed up to get it on. I'll revert to my SW- if it's that chewed up. 7 with the same dimensions as the SW- 0, SW- 1 & SW- 2 However, I purchased the SW- 1 because it can be aggravating at times to try to find the right size of the three on the SW-.
