Ensure you have a shock pump on hand. A regular bicycle pump would lose too much air during removal of the tires, so I was assuming I could just use a regular bike pump. It might have just been my pump that did this. My shock pump worked perfectly once I got it and was able to set the pressure very easily. My preference would be for the coil spring only style not to be available on any bike. For the shock to be adjusted to the rider's weight and riding style, it needs to have an air spring. If your weight is the same as the coil was made for, then by all means make use of it. I removed my Suntour shock from this fork and its weight dropped by about 4 pounds. ****Shipping was fast, the price was comparable, and best of all, it was in stock! In the past year, finding things has been difficult. *The item described and shown here is the actual one. Straight tube 1 1/8" with quick release hubs and disk brakes (no post for cantilever brakes) - without disc brakes - with wiper blades.
My forks arrived damaged with three obvious blemishes and I was so unhappy that I requested a refund. The box they were shipped in and the original manufacturers' box both looked awful, which was a hint of what I would find inside. This wasn't simply "box rash" or minor scratches, but rather gashes that showed the bare metal beneath the paint. The forks on MTBs were too badly damaged to be overlooked, in my opinion, despite their inevitable abuse. In theory, I think the forks themselves are good forks, but I wouldn't purchase them from this vendor.
