Questions & Answers

Does this fork have a straight or tapered edge. ?

A straight fork like this is what we're referring to.

How will this work with the v-series Can you brake?

The answer is absolutely yes.

After you have wiped your bike off and dried it, what do you use to lubricate the seals on the front rockshok tubes that should slide like glass?

On Amazon, you can purchase Finish Line Stanchion Lube.

Is there any way to adjust the travel on this fork by removing the volume spacers, or is there no way at all?

I did notice that there are 20mm spacers in that fork. Unlike 100mm travel forks, it doesn't come with this feature

With a Cross Country Fork, You Can't Ask For More
5/5

A straight steerer only works on older mountain bikes, which limits this to older models. Also, it is the best bargain if you need to upgrade an older mountain bike. Using this fork I made my circa 1990s Judy that had coil springs into a fun and fast bike. It has an air-adjustable Diffuser that can be set to any dampening. It has a lockout so pedaling on level and smooth surfaces is more efficient. I find it to be outrageously cheap in comparison to my Rock Shox Pluto ($600). For some installations, the fork steerer needs to be shortened. It would be beneficial if you had You can buy it at Home Depot for $15. Possibly you will need an additional 1 1/8" spacer. When the headset has loose ball bearings, it may be necessary to grease it. Installing a bike would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 if you are unsure of your abilities.

You should save your old mountain bikes from the 90s
5/5

It's a brand new, amazing purchase that I am totally stoked about. The lockout feature is an upgrade over some older forks without one. I can't comment on how durable it is, however. This Marzocchi was 20 years old and in good condition, but it had no lock out. It worked fine for downhill, but it was awful for climbing. For those of you with one of the millions of 90's mtbs that came with a shock fork that was toast and not rebuildable, this is the fork for you. The Rockshox fork (which appears to be dead stock) has stopped being produced, so if you are looking for one with canti studs to use with rim brakes, you may want to grab it now.

V-series is still available if you are using it This shock/fork is what you need for brakes
5/5

It is besides just a great product. In my search for a replacement SID air fork after the SID air was beyond repair, I discovered no longer makes forks with rim brake mounts. It is true, however. That's the one you need, and you can do the same with disk brakes. Assuming the existing shock could be rebuilt and the shock was rebuildable, the price is about the same as a rebuild for an existing shock. How does it feel to see a Although, in my mind, I still do, I still cover much of the same material and more, with about the same level of comfort as I did before. I have to lean down and flip the lever to get it out, it has a lockout. It's actually a series of schocks, each with an interior which differs in level. The best of the two that you are likely to find for sale is this one. Steel upper tubes, an air shock with 100mm travel, and an externally adjustable air and rebound are all features to note about this product. A hard blow override feature is added to the lockout position for an easy override. As far as the head tube is concerned, it is straight and not tapered.

For the price, this is a great product
5/5

For my 01 Schwinn Rocket 88 rebuild, I bought this after riding my good old Schwinn S-88 for several years before this. Previously, I used a Judy XC with hydracoil forks for the 30 and the performance of this air fork blows the Judy out of the water. Combined with a Fox Float R rear air shock, the outcome was amazing This is an excellent fork for the money & it comes alive in a matter of seconds. Despite being thrown a lot so far, it has handled everything I've thrown at it Unlike many people, I am not just a casual rider. Getting it on the bike is straightforward if you haven't done it before, but if you haven't, get instructions on how to do it on the web or have a bike shop do it.

Thank you for making such a great Great fork! Very satisfied with it
5/5

Getting it installed myself and riding the same day was easy. Other than polylube 1000 for lubrication (I already had a hacksaw and metal file), only item I needed was an awl for cutting. I used a coil spring suspension and it was very heavy, but this suspension is much lighter. My recommendation for this fork would definitely be this one. Forks such as this are set up for disc or V A signed note from the seller was included, as well as the delivery being one day earlier than expected. They are one of the best sellers I've ever found.

Value for money beyond compare
4/5

That's what makes it great. It's not a $1500 fork, but that's what makes it great. My Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc took on a whole new life with this disc. The squish isn't important for every ride, so I use it for everything. As soon as you get to the pavement, the lockout changes everything. Have a set of studs to attach to a V-neck A disc brake mount is built into the body (easily removed for a cleaner look) as well as the brakes (easy to remove).

For older mountain bikes, this is an excellent upgrade
5/5

It's a Schwinn Homegrown bike from 2001 that I bought new, and I Road biking replaced mountain biking around 2010 when the bike was still active. It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to tune up my trusty Homegrown so I can It became apparent when I was servicing the original shock that the internals were not in a state that allowed rebuilding. It is not as simple as it seems to buy new shocks for older bikes, so I brought my bike to the shop. Doing some research, came to the conclusion that these are In the case of an old MTB with 26" wheels that needs some work, be sure the tube post is 1 and 1/8 inches in diameter, and try this front suspension. The original suspension on my bike was a Rockshox as well, It is not a top suspension so I do not think there is a big improvement to my original air suspension, but it is better and it is so easy to add air as needed to ensure the rider's comfort. Now that it is in the right place, my bike can ride the trail again!.

Fully adjustable front fork at a low price
5/5

The bike was upgraded to an ebike by converting a lower end bike, the KHS Alite 50. This conversion made the bike capable of traveling at over 20 mph with a modest setting. The Suntour TXC front forks that came with this bike took moderate bumps pretty hard, which was a massive improvement over the original fork. Ebikes are limited to 17 mph and above with the TXC front forks. This bike would have been much more manageable had the fork been able to adjust for weight and rebound. The bike was prone to becoming very unpredictable before upgrading since even the paved trails could be bumpy. So, this fork can make it easier for those who want to go downhill quickly or those like me who are quite heavy to feel like they are in control of conditions more easily. You might only need a $250 front fork to prevent a crash, but you'll save much more than that by not hurting yourself or going.
