let you adjust the progressive response of your shock or It means that when nearing the limits of the shock's design travel, the shock becomes firmer, rather than being the same shock rate throughout it's As a result, you can run less air pressure for good absorption of small hits, bumps, etc. In order to handle big hits that would otherwise bottom out your shock with low air pressure, the "effect" of having air pressure higher is created by adding larger air volumes. So, if the dialing is done correctly using tokens, you'll get both soft and hard shocks in your shock travel, a soft shock for small items at the beginning and a firm shock for larger items near the end.

How does this compare to the Talon giant 292 ?

As far as the Talon is concerned, it does not include a rear shock.

There are two large spacers in the 2021 stumpjumper dps that are not compatible

I got these spacers for my 2021 specialized stumpjumper because it has a Fox DPS shock, but they would not work on my stumpjumper because of the two larger spacers. There is a middle sized spacer that would fit, but it already had been installed at.

That was just what I needed to get over my shock

unable to jump high enough to avoid bottoming out. As long as I keep the shock playful and resistant, I can still play around with it. If your shock requires spacers, make sure you purchase the correct ones. As far as I can tell, each model has its own.
