Do I need to use a matte powder-coated frame to stick this to?

The answer is yes. Because it is clear, it will adapt to any color

My knowledge of the answer is limited. If it still sticks, use rubbing alcohol on any residual adhesive, then heat it up with a hair dryer and see if it comes off. It is expensive, but works as advertised. This kit is simple to install, and the clear is almost invisible (hence the lack of a I found it to fit well and to be pretty durable. Even for a single piece of tape, it is very expensive. It's time to check the auto products and see if I can find a suitable and more affordable substitute. Let me know how that goes!.

Due to its yellowing and pulling up at the front, I removed the standard chainstay protector from my Allez. This just made my bike look a bit strange since it is white. WM's chainstay protector was similar and I found it to be very useful. It says it is for large chainstays, but it fits the chainstays on my road bike just fine. I installed it really easily Put the protector on the chainstay, stick it on carefully, and open the bubbles from the middle out.

As soon as the chainstay was clean, I wiped it with the included alcohol wipe and let it This bike's frame is made from titanium that's been blasted. I did not have any issues with sticking with the protector. With just the friction of my finger, despite my efforts, it slipped away from the frame. There must have been some sort of polish on the frame, however, as the adhesive seemed minimal at best.
