The 1x10 Shimano Deore drivetrain has a fine build quality on the whole, with smooth and precise shifting. My only issue was the bottom cover that fell off and got lost after a ride. After cleaning the bike afterward, I noticed that the bottom cover had been lost, leaving the entire shifter mechanism During the trail rides, the shifter only encountered about four easy challenges. The lone screw on the cover was never touched, so I have no way of knowing how it became loose and eventually came away. Although I did not get the original cover, I was able to get one. I would have given this review a five star rating if not for the cover on the bottom.
