This is a fantastic hub that is also very inexpensive. To be clear, the axle assembly can be used to replace an old, worn-out one. The axles appear to be made of very hard material, and the bearing surfaces last a long time (but not forever). br>These appear to have a durable surface and resist rust. br>The axles appear to be made of very hard material, and the bearing surfaces last a long time (but not forever). br>The QR skewer performs admirably. br>br>Okay, I can't think of anything negative to say about this simple hub.
I can't say enough good things about Shimano's bicycle gear. This Shimano Deore T610 32 Hole Black Front Hub satisfies the majority of the time. Please note that the "LX" was missing from the hub I received.
These hubs are a million times better than the Formula hubs I replaced.
As expected from Shimano, this is a great product. I used it to make a new front wheel for a touring bike, and it worked out perfectly.
