Yes, the top of the Baby version has a large hole for the baby seat aresting system to snap into. That isn't available on a regular rack. That is the only difference I see between the two racks. The carrying capacity as well as the connection to the bike are identical. Otherwise, if you have a disk break in your back wheel, make sure you get the correct version of the rack.
Yes, if your bike is 26 years old; however, if your bike is 29 years old, it is not.
Yes, I put it on my Trek 4500, which does not have a disk brake. It has a very broad appeal.

We returned the racks because they were incompatible with our disc brake bikes, not because of a design or quality issue. br>br>Both of our motorcycles (Marin and I) Cinelli) has a number of rack/fender/etc. connection points. The Topeak Babyseat II Disc Mount Racks did not fit either bike; the thickened, wider connection point at the rear wheel hub, presumably to avoid conflict with disc brakes, is what distinguishes these "Disc Mount Racks," as far as I can tell. Unfortunately, these racks did not fit on our bikes due to the wider connection point. I'm stumped, but I'm guessing that older disc brake bikes required the extra clearance, whereas newer bikes did not? Regardless, we've returned the racks and replaced them with non-toxic alternatives. version on a disc We'll see if the non-governmental organizations can help us. Work on the DVD version I think it will, based on the photos. br>br>One thing that Topeak and other manufacturers, such as Blackburn, could provide is a detailed schematic drawing showing rack dimensions. Dimensions of the tube and the height of the top rack Such dimensions, as well as the spacing between the mounting connection points at the bike's rear hub, would be extremely helpful in assisting buyers in determining compatibility prior to purchase.
It took three tries for us to find the right rack. Despite sending multiple photos of our baby seat, Topeak customer service told us twice. Our seat was supposed to be the baby seat number one, but it's actually the baby seat number two. Fortunately, my husband was confident in his assessment, so we simply tried the two rack and it worked. But what about the yellow sliding lock that was supposed to come with it? I'm not sure if it was supposed to. However, we are still unable to use this seat because we do not have it, which is extremely inconvenient!.
On my 2009 Specialized Rockhopper Mountain bike, it works great with the Topeak bike seat or as a regular bike rack, and it fits over the disc brakes nicely.
Riding in the bike seat is a lot of fun for my kid.
Otherwise, rack clearance is extremely limited and will almost certainly cause problems.
This rack was the perfect fit for my ebike. It's almost as if it was made for my bike, and I bought one for my wife's ebike as well, so I can now take my granddaughter on my bike while she carries the luggage pack on hers. I would strongly suggest it.
It's great to have a second rack for our child's bike. Topeak makes fantastic products, and I've been very happy with everything I've bought from them.
Both the Topeak basket and the Topeak Baby seat are stored on this rack. It has both of these qualities. It's simple to install on your bike, and I appreciate that it's compatible with disc brakes, which my bike has.
