Questions & Answers
Yes, the Echelon pedals are SPD, so these shoes will fit that bike perfectly.
This is the correct height. And they're very comfortable, which I love, so I'll take a picture of them.
The S22i's pedals appear to be regular pedals with cages on them, rather than clip-in pedals. You'll need to swap out the pedals if you want to ride the bike with cycling shoes. The Tommaso Capri is compatible with all SPD pedals, so if you want to use these cycling shoes, you should swap out the stock pedals for SPD pedals.
It is strongly suggested. I've been spinning for over ten years and find that regular tennis shoes don't provide enough grip and support for my feet's soles. They typically have soft soles that cause discomfort to your feet. These shoes can be worn without cleats with ease.

My Christmas present was a MYXfitness bike. You can either wear your regular athletic shoes or spin shoes for this workout. After a few months of wearing my athletic shoes, my toes began to hurt, so I decided to look into cycling shoes. I did a lot of research before making this decision. For a variety of reasons, I decided to take a chance on these. They received favorable feedback. The shoe's tongue is made of a soft fabric. It doesn't dig into my foot in any way. The shoe had laces, which I liked because they allowed for a better fit. I can walk without damaging my floor because the cleat is recessed into the shoe. The shoe included a cleat. I've been wearing these shoes for a few weeks and am still pleased with them. Things to keep in mind: It's a stiff shoe. This isn't your typical athletic footwear. Because feet do not move around in them, this is a good thing. I have narrow feet, so it was a little tight across the top, but my foot doesn't slide around. I normally wear a size 9 in Nike shoes, but after reading the reviews, I decided to go with an 8. It fits well in the length; I considered exchanging for a 9 because they were a little snug in the width, but that would make them too long in the length. Make sure you're wearing the correct cleat. Cleats are used in a variety of ways on various bikes. These are something I'd buy again. Take a chance on it. If they don't fit properly, you can always return or exchange them.
These were a lot more comfortable than tiems, and they had a wider toe box. My problem is that I'm concerned about the long-term viability of the product. The shoes have a cheap feel to them. And I'm not just talking about the weight; the durability does not appear to be adequate. The mesh top has a lot of movement to it. It's only a matter of time before my big toe tears through the mesh as someone who wiggles his toes a lot in rides. In comparison to other shoes I've tried, I had a lot of trouble clipping in with these. I'm not sure if the recessed ratio is off, but there was definitely a learning curve (unlike tiems, which are simple to clip in even for beginners). I'm willing to give these another shot if some of the designs are changed. Other gray styles, I believe, are still produced by the company. Unfortunately, recessed cleating and wide toe boxes are what I'm looking for.
I really wanted to like these shoes, but they just weren't right for me. Because I have a wider foot, I went up a size, and these shoes are very light and cute. I had to twist my foot in sideways to get the shoes on, even with the laces at their loosest setting. Also, the attached cleats squeaked on my pedals because they moved around a lot. This isn't an issue with any of my other SPD cleats. My toes were aching and cramping after just one ride. It's ideal for a narrow foot, but not so much for a wide one.
I usually wear a size 7, so I ordered an 8 in this case. The fabric on top reminds me of Nike Flyknit fabric, very stretchy and sock-like, so consider going up a half size. The shoelaces appear to be more decorative than necessary. The SPD clips are completely recessed after installation, allowing you to walk normally without balancing on them. I've only gone on one ride so far, but the sole is a little softer than the average cycling shoe, allowing your foot to bend a little more when you stand, which I think I prefer because my foot would sometimes go to sleep in the flat hard spin shoes of the past. However, I can see how this would irritate some people, so I deducted one star for it.
Pro: It has a sneaker-like feel to it, is relatively soft on top, and is ventilated. The advantages end there. This shoe has far too many drawbacks. This shoe was too tight for my narrow foot, especially the top of my foot. Even after I loosened the laces, it didn't help. It's difficult to get your foot in and out of these shoes because they are too tight. The shoe's insole also slipped out as I slipped my foot out. When I turned the shoe over to install the clips, I noticed that the screws were not evenly spaced. We're supposed to slide the clips back and forth, but we're not doing so evenly. The defect can be seen in the photo I posted, and these are being returned. I'm not going to buy the same brand again.
At first glance, the shoes are snazzy and extremely comfortable; I tried on a size 8. First, a 5, as opposed to an 8, which I usually wear. Sneaker number five. They were a little too short and a little too narrow. I only took one class before returning them and receiving a 9. I went to two classes with the 9 and the pain in my outer foot was excruciating. I can't wear them because they're too narrow. They're not working for me. It's a shame because they're so darn cute and have such a stretchy upper. The laces aren't even required.
The toe box is actually fine, but the back part of the shoe is tight, so a shoehorn comes in handy when putting the shoes on. Even though the laces were left loose on the first ride, there was a lot of pressure on the feet. A close inspection of the laces before the second ride reveals a piece of elastic strip hidden between them that has the same effect of pulling the laces together. Apart from the above special design philosophy, the shoes perform well for their intended purpose of moving around easily in them without even being aware that they are wearing cycling shoes. br>br>Apart from the above special design philosophy, the shoes perform well for their intended purpose of moving around easily in them without even being aware that they are wearing cycling shoes.
They're a little narrow, so they're a little difficult to put on, but the top is elastic, so they're fine once they're on. They are only available in whole sizes. I'm a size 6 shoe. I'm a size 5 and the size 6 fits perfectly, and I like how the clips are hidden inside the shoe's bottom. I do a lot of cycling workouts where we get off the bike and do some cross training, and I appreciate being able to keep these shoes on while doing so. I'm not sure I'd want to wear them for extremely long rides, but they've worked well for rides of up to an hour.
