Ensure they are burned in before you move the furniture! I live in a region with a lot of mountains, and my rear brake was getting so hot on some downhills that you could smell it burning and the disc turned yellow. I used metal pads for that! So I decided to try these out. The following is what I learned after riding for two weeks in the mountains It seems that my new brakes have the same stopping power as my old ones, but they are quieter and run You can simply burn them in afterward. Once you have reached a certain speed, gently slow down. Five times at 5 mph, ten mph, 15 mph, and twenty mph. (It's a workout I'm not going to miss! I believe this helped in terms of noise and stopping power. (5. can be done likewise A maximum of 50 times at 10 mph). Make sure you burn them in properly so you get the best results!.
I have tested these on a pair of Shimano BR-27s It has an MT520 based on YouTube videos indicating that they could be modified so that they would work. The fins had to be trimmed most of the time when I went to install it. The MT520's will work just fine but if you have just the J04C pads, I'm sure they will work just fine.
With my 2012 Shimano XTR BL-II, I have been using these J04C brake pads A988, Version 2. 0 There are two M985 Trail brakes, one front and one With the front brake, I get about 2,000 miles out of them and with the rear brake, I get about 1,000 miles. There is no guarantee on how this will play out for you. In my XTR brakes I've tried a variety of brake pads, but these are the best feeling for me as they deliver the best braking quality. It would be nice if they were more affordable, but I keep coming back to.
It is only the rear that has been replaced, and it is still the oem stock resin type in the front. Since I'm in the middle of the ride, I can't decide which is better. I think they may be a little louder during a slower section, but it is more just an entirely I have no complaints about them, they work great both in the wet and in the dry!.
My shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes came with these original pads. They are a direct replacement. The brakes are good, but they tend to drag & slide My bike vibrates when I am coasting Neither applying brakes nor slowing down. What is this? I'm not sure where it came from. I have updated my post for 7/29/21. There is such a lot of drag and noise these days, Due to the fact that I had to replace them, I have reduced my rating to (1) start for the quality and durability. It is priced.
It was an easy choice for me because these pads added power and durability to the front end of my bike. My cheap metallic shoes howled when I tried them years ago. My estimate is that these pads contain about 1/3 more power than the J03A organic pads. They are quiet and smooth, too. am slightly confused as to whether the J04A material is more of a semi-crystalline A metallic substance. Although I am in favor of them on the front brake, I think they would overload the rear. MBing used to be my favorite past time, and I used to do a lot of it.
The part number was off by one letter but I was able to use it on my Fatboy just fine. As far as I recall, the old brakes had a "B" instead of a "J," but they were still visually identical. There is only one complaint I have that the price of such small brake pads is outrageous. For a set of brakes, you will have to pay well over $50. I was able to get a bigger car at a better price. I mean, Shimano, you have no reason to keep these prices high. It's free to play, but you have to pay to access it.
The J04C pads are a perfect replacement for my old worn out ones. You will have great braking for as long as you replace them before you need to.
