Questions & Answers

What is the total weight of this bike with the battery? I can't seem to find it in the specifications. ?

The weight of the 29er size bike without the battery is 57 pounds. The battery weighs 5 pounds, bringing the total weight to 66 pounds. 5 Lbs.

On hills, how effective is the pedal assist? had a previous ebike that couldn't keep up with me on the hills?

The short answer is that it provides significant hill assistance. It probably depends on the rider's weight, but even on the lowest assist settings, it helps me (165 lbs) get up the hills. On steep hills, I still have to pedal, but it helps me all the way up. I'm impressed with how well this performs and how much assistance it provides; I ride it up a fairly steep incline in soft dirt and leaves and it propels me forward. The same can be said for a three-block stretch of road with a steep incline.

Has anyone had any success with, or suggestions for, replacing components to reduce the bike's weight without compromising performance?

This is a mid-range entry-level bike that performs admirably; however, if you want something lighter, spend more money! Mine is fantastic; I've put 700 miles on it and it's still going strong! I once overused my brakes, which resulted in warped rotors that were easy to repair.

Wow - The shipping was quick, and the design was attractive
5/5

I'm 6'1" and bought the 29", and I believe this is the first bike that truly fits me! My legs are finally able to extend comfortably in my sitting position. br>br>Shipping: The seat/saddle is (I believe) gel padded and was very comfortable for my over 20 mile ride. br>br> This bike was shipped from Washington state to Florida, where I live, and it arrived in great shape. It comes in excellent packaging. In the case of myself - It was sent by FedEx and required a signature upon receipt. My order was placed on January 13th, and it was delivered on January 18th. As a result, the shipping has impressed me. Assembly: br>br>Instructions: br>br>Instructions: br>br>Instructions The bike is simple to put together because the handle bar and front wheel are already attached. To protect the wheel during shipping, there is a plastic piece that goes through it. It is simple to unscrew and then remove. In addition, the bike's front brake caliper has a spacer. Get rid of it - The wheel then slides right in (remember not to pull the brake lever before inserting the wheel, or the caliper will close, making it difficult to insert the wheel). My first ride: I charged the battery after putting the bike together. It arrived mostly charged, but I wanted to go for a long bike ride without running out of juice. After the battery had been fully charged - The battery level barely moved after I rode the bike for 26 miles. It didn't drop a bar, and the voltage remained in the 50s. So I guess I didn't have to be concerned about a full charge. While I was riding - I mostly rode level 1 or 2 of the assist system - I did, however, use the throttle and test the other assist levels from 1 to 6. br>br>The trigger shifters perform admirably - I didn't have to make any changes at all. The brakes are incredible, stopping quickly and quietly. Riding on rough pavement and city streets, the front suspension performed admirably. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br The On Velo grips are extremely comfortable and eliminate any strain while riding the bike; I plan to use them on all of my other bikes. Because an ebike allows you to travel much further - Hand sprain is a serious problem. These grips eliminate the risk of nerve damage and work extremely well. br>br>It's interesting to see how the power assist works. This is how it worked for me on my first ride.
> Level 0 of power assistance You must pedal without assistance. br> Level 1 of power assistance Up to 10 mph with motor assistance - The motor shuts off when you reach 10 mph - If you slow down to less than 10 mph, the motor will pull you back up to 10 mph. br>The other power assist modes work similarly, but gradually increase the mph (level 2 - incremental). 12 mph; level 3: 15 mpg, and so on. ) As a result, when you reach level 6 of power assist - It can help you achieve up to 20 miles per gallon (mpg) - If you fall below 20 mph, it will bring you back up. br>br>I like this type of assistance because I can set it to level 1 or 2 and ride comfortably on my own power while the bike assists me in maintaining speed when I hit an incline or a strong headwind. Because the motor only helps me when I really need it - I can see that this bike's range will easily exceed 40 miles, which will most likely be my limit on any ride. br>br>On the other hand, if you want to ride at 20 mph - When the assist level is set to 6, the bike will essentially do the majority of the work for you. Alternatively, you can simply turn off the power assist and drive at 20 mph using the throttle. The motor can only assist you for a maximum of 20 minutes. Over 22 mph, the vehicle will be cut off. If you only use the throttle, you can stop pedaling and keep your speed at 20 mph. br>br>The motor/controller Das- is one of my favorites. Kit. The LCD is easy to read, and the buttons are clearly labeled, well-positioned, controllable, and responsive. It is also quiet! Quiet to the point of being deafening. I can hear the motor at the highest level of power assist, level 6, but it is very quiet and non-existent in the lower power assist modes. obtrusive. br>br>There isn't a lot of space on the handle bar. There isn't much room between the trigger shifters, brakes, bell, throttle control, LCD display, and reflector. Between the bell and the LCD, I was able to fit a phone holder, but it's a tight fit. The reflector is most likely to be removed. In order for me to be able to install a headlight. br>br>Excellent customer service: I contacted the company on two occasions and received excellent service both times. I had bought the bike previously - I inquired about the bike rack and fenders via web chat with Leon Cycles (the bike seller). And then again after I bought the bike, in both cases - This company is for real, and not just a couple of guys buying bikes from China, as the NCM representative who assisted me was quick to respond, helpful, and pleasant! I'm very pleased with the service, and I appreciate your assistance at Leon Cycles. br>br>In general - The NCM Moscow 29" plus is an excellent purchase. The bike is nice to ride, has good components, a great controller/LCD/motor, and great customer service! and I anticipate that as the bike's popularity grows- It's possible that the price will go up, but for the time being - This bike is a fantastic deal and the best buy I could find for a class 2 electric bike. br>br>I am not affiliated with the seller and have not been compensated in any way for this review. Simply put, I am a happy customer. br>br>Update on January 26th - br>[Update on the 100-Mile Run] - After 100 miles of riding on the initial charge, I still have 8V and 2 of 5 bars. For the majority of the ride, I used pedal assist 1 or 2, so the motor didn't start until my speed dropped below 10 mph. 12 mph, resulting in a range of over 100 miles on a single charge. I'll try to write a review as I ride the bike and provide more information about the range. Added accessories - br>br> I included a phone holder as well as a headlight. I can now use Waze on my phone to track my location and traffic in the area. On the left handlebar, there is a phone holder. I was able to add the BV Super Bright (300 Lumens) USB Rechargeable Bike Headlight that I purchased on Amazon after removing the reflector from the right handlebar. The BV headlight comes with a free taillight, which I find to be very useful for night riding. This is everything I need to complete the handlebars, and it all fits together.

The price is incredible
4/5

But. I've had the bike for a little more than two weeks and have ridden it about 100 miles. br>I ride a road bike, so the Moscow is a beast and very heavy in comparison. It has a solid feel to it. br>My inseam is 33" and I'm 6'3" and 180 pounds. I was worried that the large would be too small, but this was not the case. The bike is extremely comfortable once I've adjusted it and installed my own seat. Long rides are possible thanks to the geometry, which also provides excellent performance on the road. br>NCM thought long and hard about how they wanted to spend and save their money. To begin with, the group set is inexpensive, and if you ride frequently, you'll probably need to replace it sooner rather than later. The front fork is also a low-cost alternative to forks, but it does the job well. The motor and battery are where they spent the most money, so the bike feels like a great deal. The motor is powerful and capable of handling some seriously steep terrain. As for the battery, I've personally gotten 40 miles on a single charge while riding the bike hard and fast, and I'm confident it could reach 60 miles if the peddle assist was turned down. br>The stock tires are excellent, but I removed them and replaced them with WTB road slicks to increase range and comfort, resulting in a bike that is excellent for road riding with the occasional dirt road or sandy surface excursion. Off road, the stock tires perform admirably and will undoubtedly outperform the Suntour front fork's shortcomings. br>I'm pleased with my purchase so far. It has gotten me back on a bike after Multiple Sclerosis robbed me of my stamina and made me wonder if I'd ever be able to ride again. br>br>The NCM service appears to be non-existent. I sent them an email with a few questions and have yet to receive a response, which is disappointing given how good the product is. Hopefully, they'll figure out how to deal with customers.

If your bike breaks down, you're on your own
3/5

After a distance of 8 miles, the controller died. After several phone calls, the seller sent me a replacement controller and directed me to a bike shop nearby. They were adamant about not doing anything about it. I decided to change it myself after trying three different shops. To remove the hub, I needed to purchase a specialized tool. I worked on the project with my son for more than three hours. The bike now functions properly, but the spedometer continues to read 0 mph while riding. It also shuts down for no apparent reason, causing you to lose electric traction. So here I am: br>br> br>It is not possible to return the bike because it has been unpacked. br>It is not possible to use it in its entirety. I wish I had gone shopping locally. br>br>I can't sell it at a loss because it's defective. br>br>I wish I had gone shopping locally.

First and foremost, the price is unbeatable!! br>A Rep from Leon called me up to inform me of the shipping and detail how complete the bike was (all I had to do with the provided tools was screw in the pedals, mount the handlebars, adjust the seat, and air up the tires and I was off!) br>The one thing to keep in mind about the whole experience is that they want someone there to pick up the package, so make sure you work closely with Leon, the shipping company, and the driver
5/5

They were all surprised that I didn't mention that I lived in a one-bedroom apartment. from Amazon on down, but everyone was pleasant, and it was a fantastic buying experience all the way to the fact that I saved thousands on a top-of-the-line car. Bike is top-notch. br>br>UPDATE: 11/14/2019 I received a QAR First Class package to update a screw configuration on the bike and its impact, which I understand as someone who has worked in manufacturing. BUT, what's more surprising, this is the first time an Amazon manufacturer has done something like this with a 'potential problem' if I could give them an extra 1/2-hour. I would give it one star. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> 10/19/2020 Another year has passed, and we are still going strong. I still don't regret buying it because it makes it so much easier to get to work (12). In these Covid times, 3 miles is a long way. I have the option of not charging, but why should I when I can charge for free at work?.
