Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use Rixen panniers on the lower bar of the rack?

Yes. It performs admirably. This rack served me well on my '9er with Axiom bags, and it now serves me well on my TerraTrike (modified for 26" wheels and seat). using the same bags as before. It's a sturdily constructed rack. Thank you for your inquiry.br> This is a great deal, and it's also a Prime item. I'm thinking about ordering some more.

Is this compatible with the BPM F35 20"?

I'm not sure about specific bikes, but if yours has disk brakes, it should.

Is this rack compatible with the Giant Roam 3 disc (large frame) from 2018?

If the seat stay is equipped with the necessary holes - There's no reason why it shouldn't be done.

Is it important that I get this for a bike that does not have disc brakes? Thank you ahead of time! ?

The disc version has standoffs that allow it to be mounted around the brake mechanism, which is the only difference between the two. br>As previously stated, this introduces an engineering flaw in the design, and the legs will begin to bend after a number of Curry drops and potholes while fully loaded. This is much less likely to occur in non-profit organizations. Because the stresses are vertical instead of at an angle, the disc version is preferred. Yes, it should mount to a non-metallic surface without issue. disc bike, but only if you already own a rim brake bike and plan to upgrade to a disc brake bike soon.

For the money, this is the absolute best quality rack available
5/5

Allow me to preface this by stating my qualifications. I sold my bicycle shop two years ago and now work as a freelance writer. For the past 35 years, I've worked in the bicycle retail industry. As a result, I'll tell you what I told my customers. "Anything made by Topeak is top-notch!" " The Topeak Super Tourist is Topeak's most heavy-duty rack that does not include a spring. Unless you have a specific goal in mind, the spring isn't necessary. I purchased this Super Tourist for my daughter to go with her Surly Long Haul Trucker with Disc Brakes, which she uses to commute to and from work in Portland, Oregon. She is unable to drive because she does not own a vehicle. So I had in mind for her a grocery getter and all-around all-purpose rack. Look at how the horizontal bar is positioned just beneath the top of the rack platform on this rack. That provides a great location for mounting touring bags or the folding Wald Baskets she wants to use on them. Topeak racks all have their own bags and baskets that they use. The way they slide on the top player channel and clip fully secure with a spring loaded button that instantly unlocks with the push of a button is simply brilliant. It includes two stainless washers for each bolt and mounting point, as well as top-quality stainless steel bolts and nylock nuts. The rack stays are a little longer than most brands', allowing it to accommodate a wider range of bikes. (at a higher level) It's great! There are better racks that are stronger but also heavier and much more expensive, as well as lighter weight racks that are less expensive and may appear to be identical at first glance. (Please believe me when I say that there are numerous subtle differences. ) ) However, nothing compares to the utility, price, quality, fit, options, and ease of use and mounting that this product offers. Note: With her small set of tools I gave her for Christmas when she was twelve years old, I mounted this in her apartment. It took about ten minutes for me to complete the task. It also includes a complete Topeak brochure and directions. Even though there are better racks at exorbitant prices, I give it a ten and an A. As an expedition-ready rack, I would still recommend this rack. a high-quality rack that can be used anywhere in the world.

DJ Bikes 26" Mountain e-Bikes are compatible
4/5

This is the bike I purchased for my DJ Bikes 26" electric bike. Bike (ASIN: XXXXXXXXXXXX B06XCN2LPX is the product number for this item. The vendor stated that it would fit/mount, and it did so without issue. br>br>It appears to be a nice rack with many useful features. The most important is the MTX quick-release system. Topeak's track mount is a Topeak exclusive. The other major benefit is that it has a second rail on the side that allows you to mount most saddle bags while also having a trunk loaded on top. bag or other load while still being able to attach and detach them quickly. br>br>Assembly was simple, though the front extending brackets had to be bent to fit the e-bike's low fender/accessor mount. I used a Knipex plier wrench to help make a nice bend on the bike, but it was fairly simple and straightforward. Aside from that, I needed a 5mm hex-drive screwdriver. All of the bolts should be tightened with a wrench or Allen key, and the nuts should be tightened with an 8mm wrench (I used an 8mm socket just in case). For the mount on my bike, I needed a 10mm wrench; others may not require it, but may require something else. br>br>Cons of packaging: For mounting the rear tail-light, one screw was missing from the package. mount a light It was a pain, but I managed to find one in my collection that was close enough. I already purchased a different mount for my light, so I'll most likely replace the one that came with it soon. br>br>This rack is a little pricey when compared to the competition, but you're paying for the name. I would have looked around if I had more time, but I was confident that this one would fit the bike, so I didn't want to waste time looking at others. I could also use the company's own bags, so I just paid the higher price. Instead of having to make changes later, do it up front. br>br>So far, I'm pleased with the rack's mounting and construction, but I haven't put it to the test. Right now, all I wanted to say was that it did mount quite nicely on the e-reader. bike. br>br>Recently updated: 2018 19br>I was pleased with the rack and purchased the DXP MTX compatible trunk bag from the company (.

The Fuji Traverse size L is the only one that fits
4/5

This rack was just big enough for my Fuji Traverse. With a 19" seat tube (Size L in Fuji's line up) and 700 CC wheels, it's a "dual sport" bike. I was surprised to discover that the mounting bracket arms needed to be extended to their maximum length. If you have a "small frame" bike, the installation instructions say you should buy "extra long mounting brackets," which I'm not sure what that means because Fuji considers my bike to be a size large, so I'm glad I didn't have to spend the extra money.

Keep an eye on things
3/5

This rack caused me a couple of issues.
1. Over my 700c road bike tire and fender, it provided only a smidgeon of clearance. It was already closer than I wanted before the fender was put on.
2. It is pliable and bends easily. At first, I planned to keep my u-shaped u-shaped u-shaped u-shaped It comes with locks. The weight of the locks had caused the rack to bow out and down, which I noticed.
3. As a result of the first and second problems. My fender is pushed into my tire by the rack, making riding difficult. I believe it's because of the Disk Brake model's design. The long pieces that you use to attach the screw to the dropouts and make the rack so wide are also weak. Every other week or so, I've had to re-bend the rack into place. Because these pieces make it wider, Topeak should have made this model taller to compensate for the height lost by widening it. If you have a bike with 700c wheels and disk brakes, I recommend getting the one made for a 29er because it is taller. br>I've now placed an order for an Axiom rack with adjustable height for disk brakes.

I have a 27 and it was not bad, but there were a few issues
3/5

The mounting screws for the bottom part where it attaches to the rear wheels were a little too small for this Shwinn disk brake bike. To ensure a tight fit for the screw, I inserted a small zip tie into the hole. I zip tied the two metal slim rods that are supposed to attach to the upper portion of the rear frame to the seat post because there was no mounting screw. br>br>It worked, but I still feel bad because this bike rack isn't truly universal.
