Questions & Answers

Is this a fat bike rack for those who bought it? It's not a fat bike rack in the picture. Thanks! ?

The main product shown is incorrect; it appears to be a standard MTX Touring rack. The rack in the other photos in the description is correct.

Will this rack fit a disc brake electric bike with a 20-inch rim and 4-inch fat tire?

It certainly ought to. Minet was purchased for this purpose. On my Radrover Ebike with 4 inch wide tires and disc brakes, I have one installed.

Will this rack fit my two Rad Mini step throughs, and if so, where can I get a tail light extension?

It's a universal bike rack, so I'm guessing it'll fit. The slight bending of the stainless steel connectors in the front also depends on what type of tell you have.

Will this fit a bike with a 20-inch frame?

This was used on their 20" frame, according to previous responses. Take note of the video of a User Reviewer discussing how he mounted his low to the fender using the adjustable parts. I'll respond as soon as I get mine, which should be in ten days.

Points of failure that are potentially dangerous
3/5

I've been riding with the rack on my bike for a while now in order to provide a fair review. If it weren't for the dangerous failure points, this could be a good bike rack. br>I like that this rack can be mounted on a fat bike with enough clearance. br>The rack's numerous attachment points appeal to me. br>The rack had been working fine for a while until it suffered a dangerous failure that nearly resulted in a serious accident. br>The fasteners holding the rack together failed, causing me to lose control of my bike and nearly collide with oncoming traffic. br>The fasteners sheared and came loose, causing the rack to fall onto my rear tire, causing damage to the tread. The rack bent the light and rubbed into the tire at the back, almost locking up my back tire. br>One of the stabilizing bars got caught in my spokes and seized up the rear tire. br>The rack's fastener system is a huge failure point that could cause a serious accident. br>I believe this could be a good rack system if the fastener system included some sort of safety feature to prevent the rack from colliding with your rear tire. br>I now need to replace my rear tire and some of the spokes, as well as get some new fasteners to reattach the rack leggs.

I have two 4" fat tire Radrover ebikes, and this works for both of them
5/5

The rack was easy to assemble and secure for my Topeak rack bags, requiring only four screws. Topeak rack bags are secured with the "QuickTrack" system, but other brands with Velcro straps can also be used. Because the Topeak Rack bags with the QuickTrack system are made of hard plastic inserted into a metal rail, I've noticed that they rattle a little bit on rough roads. After a while of riding (14 mile work commute and trail riding), I had to add Loctite to the screw because it had worked itself loose. Overall, this is a great rack that will last for years.

I spent some time working on my Fat Tire RadRover ebike
5/5

I had just purchased a new Rad Rover eBike and had already purchased the Topeak bag system, so I decided to give the Uni a try. Because the bike's Fat Tires are 4 1/2 inches wide, there aren't many racks that will fit the bike's extra-wide tires and frame. This rack did an excellent job. For my application, any standard fitting worked. I was also able to purchase an extended cable for use with the Rad's new rear light, which is powered by your brakes. Everything went smoothly and was well worth the money.

If you can find the right one, that's fantastic
5/5

Yes, it's for a bike with fat tires and disk brakes. Costco sold me a 26-inch fat tire NorthRock. The first mistake I made was ordering the wrong rack, which is designed for fat tires. It has a larger overall footprint and can be adjusted in height. Which of my mines had to be raised. Another issue I had was that there were no attachment points for the silver straps on this bike. As you can see in the photo, I was able to make my own with only one item. Painted 1/4-inch pipe strap, 1/4-inch screw, and padding It ended up being a more secure and reliable connection. I'm sure Topeak won't recommend it, but it's a better option. I'm excited to go camping and buy something to put in it with the bolts they provide!.

The Most Advanced Rack and Pack System on the Market! WOW - I'm not sure what to make of this rack
5/5

It can be adjusted indefinitely to make it perfect for my RadRover. I was going to go with the RadRover rack, but I really wanted the Topeak Pack, which slides on and off easily and securely. There is no better system out there than Topeak, and this rack is not as beefy as the RadRover, but it is still heftier than the one on my wife's bike, so they beefed it up a little to make it look cool when they designed the Fat Rack. It's also a little smaller than the RadRover one, which I like. I can't think of anything negative to say about this rack; even my tail light fits on the back (with some modification).

installation is a challenge Threaded holes are not available for installation on my fat tire bike
3/5

There are no other clamps included to install on a bike that isn't already equipped with a rear rack from the factory. Because racks for Fat Tire Bikes are hard to come by, I used hose clamps. The hardware screws were mismatched, so I had to go out and buy more just to put the rack together. On the rack itself, the finish and welds are exceptional. I would recommend looking elsewhere if your bike lacks factory mounting points for a rear rack. This rack could have been a true 5-star product if it had included alternative frame mounting hardware, as the bag slide-in track system is excellent.

It was a perfect match
5/5

This was the ideal complement to my Rad Rover. For my crossover bike, I have the same rack and a Topeak bag, so I was happy to see this option because it allows me to use the same bag on both bikes. The only disadvantage of this approach is that the side bags on the Rover fat bike are no longer a straight shot down like they are on my narrower crossover bike, which limits the items you can carry. However, it's still by hand.

This is a fantastic device
5/5

Once I re-fitted it, it fit perfectly on my bike. The holders were bent out of shape. It has a beefy appearance and appears to be extremely tough. I also checked out the trunk, which appears to be very cool. I adapted my Big Buck rear fender onto the rack using a couple zip ties, and it really enhances the look of my ride. ties. I'm in ecstasy right now.
