Questions & Answers

In terms of length, what are its actual dimensions? It says 21", but I purchased a medium that was supposed to be 19", but it only measures 16". ?

I purchased a large, but it is only 18" long and only 10" tall when fully extended.br>Excellent product, poor dimensions.

Would this be suitable for securing a largeu lock?

It should be able to hold a large u lock, in my opinion.

Has anyone tried storing a lithium battery in this bag?

I've got it mounted on a folding bike, and it fits a dolphin perfectly.

What bladder sizes does it accommodate? Is there a case included, or must I purchase one separately? Thanks. ?

The bladder is not included. It only has a front opening through which the tube can pass. I don't use it for water, but it would easily fit my 70 oz. You might be able to fit more items in the pack if you undo the zipper and fully extend it.

If it fits, it's a great bag
4/5

Because of all the different brands and sizes available, I agonized over which frame bag to buy. I purchased the Large Blackburn Outpost Frame Bag because I needed a bag that would maximize my luggage carrying capacity in the open triangular space between my top tube and bottom of frame for long bike tours. I was initially disappointed when it arrived because it appeared to be too small for my XL-sized body. My husband's bike frame is too big for him, and my wife's bike frame is too small for her. The large bag extended all the way to the bottom of my wife's seat tube when fully opened, and it interfered with her chain sprocket slightly. Rather than returning the bag, I strapped it to my XL-sized backpack. Even though the bag was slightly smaller than I wanted, I was very impressed with its stability and sturdiness, so I'm keeping it for bike touring and every-day use. day use. For the large bag, you'll need at least 19 inches of space between your seat tube and the bar that extends from the bottom of your top tube towards the front of the bike; the front of the bag then drops straight down approximately 3 inches in its front, so you'll need at least 3 inches of space between your top tube and the bar that extends from the bottom towards the front of the bike where the front of your bag will be. When fully opened, the large bag measures approximately 10 inches in length. Make sure you have a minimum of 10 inches along the seat tube. Between your top tube and the top of your chain, there should be 5 inches of space along the seat tube. The bag's width seemed ideal; it was close but didn't rub my legs when I pedaled when it was fully loaded. I didn't buy the medium bag, but according to the website, it's 2 inches shorter than the large, so you'll need at least 17 inches of space extending from your seat tube along the bottom of your top tube towards the front of the bike to fit the medium bag, with all other dimensions being the same as the large bag. br>br>The Blackburn bag might not fit as well as pricier custom-made bags. made bags, but the Blackburn is much less expensive, is much more durable, and is well-designed. I haven't tested it in the rain yet, but I imagine it will keep light rain out. However, if there were heavy downpours, I would put my valuables inside a plastic bag.

I wanted adequate storage that I could keep an eye on while riding, as I take day rides on trails, or ride to the post office or coffee shop
5/5

(I've heard stories of seat bags failing without the riders knowledge. ) I also needed space for my cable lock, tools, and other miscellaneous items without sacrificing my water bottle's storage. I chose the Small Blackburn Frame Bag for my medium frame Giant Roam Bicycle after much searching and research. It's ideal: it expands to accommodate the coiled cable lock, has a divider, and a small left-side compartment. It makes good use of the available space on my bike without taking up too much of it. The bag has multiple strap attachment points, as well as three additional straps that I have yet to use. br>br>It appears to be well-made and durable, and it does not bulge, which is important to me. My legs must not come into contact with anything. This bag is narrow enough to prevent rubbing, but it's also quite large and roomy for such a small bag. If your bike or needs differ from mine, the Blackburn Frame Bag is well worth the moderate price; it was the only thing I could find that did exactly what I wanted outside of a custom-made bag. br>br>I am always willing to pay for quality, and while not cheap, the Blackburn Frame Bag is well worth the moderate price; it was the only thing I could find that did exactly what I wanted outside of a custom-made bag. This book comes highly recommended.

This frame bag has a lot of room
5/5

When I needed a replacement for carrying a water reservoir on my back for longer rides, I started looking for frame bags. The Medium Blackburn Outpost Bike Frame Bag was the best option for me. The mounting points are simple to install and secure the bag. The side mesh pocket is ideal for storing small items. Snacks for the ride The side pouch with a zipper provided plenty of space for essentials. A major selling point was the opening for the drinking tube. I purchased one. 5 liters AND a three liter bottle Water reservoir with a capacity of 0L for both electrolyte and plain water. Although it was a tight fit, both drinking tubes fit through the opening, and I was able to transport nearly 5L of water! When fully loaded, the bag bulged slightly but did not obstruct my riding in the saddle or while standing on the pedals in any way. Make sure all of the extra straps are secured so that they don't get in the way of the cabling, pedals, or tires. br>It didn't work for me in the zippered/compact mode because I couldn't get to my water bottle cages (which necessitated the double reservoir solution). Because the photo depicts my bike's measurements, your results may differ. Overall, a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this product because it is well-made and long-lasting.

I considered purchasing a more expensive frame bag made by Apidura, Revelate, or Ortlieb, but instead decided to give this Blackburn Outpost bag a try first, and I couldn't be happier
5/5

The bag is well-made and extremely useful. The mesh side pockets are great for storing gels or snacks, and the hydration bladder pass through is great for running cables through as well as your drink tube. In my bag, I keep a battery pack that I've used to charge my phone and power my headlight/taillight. The slim left side pocket is ideal for storing your wallet and phone, while the main compartment comfortably accommodates all of your larger items. There was still room for more after I packed it with my lunch, a small 1 liter bladder, a frame pump, and my battery pack. Smaller frames work best with this medium. It fits perfectly on my 52cm road bike and is thin enough that I don't notice it while riding. I had previously used a Topeak top tube bag, which got in the way when I stood over the bike sprinting and my knees collided with it. The water bottle cages are obstructed by the bag. I used a velcro strap to secure the downtube cage to the frame's bottom screw boss.

This Blackburn frame bag is functional and matches my Juiced Scrambler ebike frame perfectly. Mollie straps with velcro loop straps run the length of the bag.
