It's a little inconvenient that after spending $40 on a rack, I now have to spend an additional $10 on brackets. Because I have a small frame, I'm going to spend a quarter of the cost of the rack on brackets. The rack should only be available with these longer brackets as an option. If you do require these, simply follow the instructions and attach them to the rack first, before bending them to attach to the frame. When I tried to do it the other way around, I stripped a screw.
My wife is 4'11" tall and rides a small-framed bike, so these are required for the rack to fit properly. Since the brackets and rack were installed, we have had no problems with them. I used a small amount of locktite on the threads to help them hold together a little better, but that was probably overkill. We ride the rail trails a lot, and things can get a little shaky at times. We are extremely pleased with this setup and would recommend it to anyone who rides a small frame.
Much better and more durable than the original Ibera rear rack. This was required in order for the Ibera rack to work on a 14-inch frame schwinn Fremont bike with no rear rack mounts. These came in handy when I needed to put a rack on my daughter's bike. br>I also used the m-clips. To make the rear rack work, use the wave rear rack mount attachment.
I purchased a child seat to mount on my bike, but the hardware was not compatible with my model. This was purchased so that I could mount the seat, and while it is long enough, it does not appear to be sturdy enough to hold my child. I believe the light weight was chosen to reduce rider fatigue, but I wouldn't put my child in the seat if these were holding him up.
For my son's Trek Wahoo 24" bike, I needed to get these. At the very least, the MFR provides them; however, I wish these cargo racks came with longer brackets, as this appears to be a common issue based on the reviews. I debated whether to give 4 or 5 stars because this MFR deserves credit for at least providing these (others simply say "too bad"). However, because they appear to be more expensive, I decided to give the rack 4 stars and this 5 stars because it was at least offered.
This is a general rule that applies to any frame size. It can be mounted on a variety of frame sizes thanks to its multiple mounting points. I used it to attach a rear rack to a road bike with a 13-inch flat bar. Works perfectly as shownbr>br>.
This is ideal for extending a mounting bracket, such as on a mountain bike or other large-wheeled bike, and the pair of brackets is extremely durable. I can't think of a circumstance in which these brackets wouldn't suffice. A sufficient number of allen bolts and washers are also included in this package. There's a good chance you won't miss anything while installing these brackets.
I like how inexpensive this type of rack stay is in comparison to others. My bike has lowrider seat stays, which I needed to extend in order to level the rack properly. These were ideal for attaching my Topeak Explorer 29er disc to my 2018 Marin Pine Mountain bike.
