Questions & Answers

There is currently 2" of free space on my seatpost. Is this sufficient for securing the rack?

Is it big enough for a one-person post? 5 ".

The screw had come loose. I'm at a loss for what to do at this point. ?

A bolt extractor will be required to remove and replace the head if it is stripped. Make sure the threads are greased and torqued properly. If you mean that the bolt's shaft is stripped, you'll probably need to drill the bolt hole, tap it to the next larger size, and replace it with a new larger bolt.

Is it possible to use this on a bike with a gauntlet?

No idea. I'm not sure what kind of bike this is.

Is the backlight mounting plate made of plastic, aluminum, or something else entirely?

It's an aluminum rack that looks great. I also bought the bag to go with the rack, and I'm happy with both.

5 carrier compatible with folding bikes
5/5

These are mounted on my 20" Retrospec Judd Folding bike, which lacks inlets for a traditional bike back carrier. After contacting the company and receiving no response, Amazon steps in with a fantastic solution. No additional screws are required to mount this carrier to the seatpost. Once installed properly, it is sturdy and will not move. (tip: use the provided rubber tape)br>The only caveat is that it isn't a quick release, but for what I'll be doing with it, i. This is perfect for Amazon packages, small boxes that are less than the recommended weight of 22 pounds; I'm sure it can handle more, but I'm not planning on pushing it. To keep loads from shifting, use a bungee cord or something similar. You can also get a free mini rakpak bag, but I don't think it's worth nearly $60, so I'll wait for it to go on sale. This item is light, so it won't add any extra weight to the bike. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase, which improved the bike's functionality while also improving its appearance. However, it's possible that I'm simply biased. 😁😂.

Even without the bag, it performs admirably! It's also compatible with a carbon seatpost
4/5

Works well on larger seatposts, but not so well on 25-inch ones. It's only a 4mm seat post, but it gets the job done. On the 25th of September, If you bump the 4mm seatpost, it will easily move, but it will stay put if you don't. I was able to solve this issue by cutting an extra piece of rubber from a tube and adding it to the rubber that came with it to tighten it up. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 8/28/16 The instructions state that this system should not be used with a carbon seatpost, but I have the Cannondale C2 Carbon seatpost and have had over 20 pounds in the bag and I weigh 170 pounds sitting on the seat bouncing without any issues.

For bikes with independent rear suspension, this is the ideal solution: For urban commuting, my wife and I recently purchased two Mongoose mountain bikes
5/5

Hers is the smaller model, measuring 24", while mine is the larger model, measuring 26". The idea was always to buy a carrier to add to the bikes so that they could be used for trips to work, local markets, and general recreation in and around Minneapolis. br>br>This is a review for my wife's bike; I've also written one for my own bike, which uses the larger (but similar) IB-100. RA1. br>However, as with many mountain-based activities, there is a learning curve. The Mongoose's rear suspension is independent from the rest of the bike. While it's great for potholes, cobblestones, curbs, and posteriors, it's not so great for potholes, cobblestones, curbs, and posterior Because you have one, you won't be able to mount a more traditional bike rack with supports that attach to the actual wheel hub. br>br>These single-use items are a great way to save money. Ibera's post units are perfect for this problem because they only attach to the seat post frame (or the seat post downtube). br>br>Mounting the unit on my wife's bicycle was simple, but because she is short, it was a challenge. A major consideration was finding a way to install the unit with the least amount of lifting of her seat. I was able to solve this problem by removing the seat post clamp and using the clamp on the Ibera rack to do double-checking. The Ibera clamp is actually far stronger/sturdier than the original "quick-release" clamp, so it can serve as both a support for itself and a clamp for the seat post. The Mongoose came with a "release" clamp, and because it uses a hex-head screw, it's a good fit. The use of a head bolt to secure the assembly eliminated the possibility of someone using the quick-release mechanism. While the bike is parked at the local market, they can take advantage of both the Seat and the Rack. Those who are concerned should know that the rack clamp easily accommodated the larger 31. The bicycle has an 8mm down tube (though it could probably take a bit more). The rack is extremely stiff and has virtually no flex once installed and used as a combination seat clamp/rack clamp. br>br> While it's rated for a 22-pound load, I'm sure it could hold a little more if secured this way. It also doesn't interfere with the real-time data because it only mounts to the seat post/downtube. wheel independent suspension (provided the rack is mounted high enough so that it does not interfere with the rear wheel's travel; in this case, the distance between the horizontal rack tube and the tire was about 4"). br>br>In terms of the unit's design, the rack is almost entirely made of high-density polyethylene. The only possible source of concern is the small orange trim clips on the rack itself, which appear to be made of high-strength aluminum and appear to have the potential to outlast the bike. Despite the fact that the plastic appears to be of superior quality, I'll be interested to see how well they hold up over the course of a lifetime of owning the Ibera Mini- (IB-) Bike Bag BA6) was constantly snapping and unclipping from the rack. br>br>One thing I discovered was that this rack is best suited for smaller bikes. In this case, the rack fit my wife's 24" Mongoose perfectly, but it was a little too small/short for my 26" Mongoose. For larger bikes, I recommend the IB- Instead, opt for the RA1 model, which has more adjustments and appears to be more balanced when mounted on a larger bike frame. br>br>Overall, this is an excellent solution for our needs, and I would recommend it to anyone facing a similar problem.

It was precisely what I was looking for
5/5

I've only recently begun to use this rack, so I may have to change my mind. But I'm enjoying it so far. On a 27-inch screen, it was simple to put together. Rubber packing is included with the 2mm seat post. I supplied the metric Allen wrench and purchased a stainless spring tension washer for the securing screw. A plastic pan was also attached to the rack, and a bungee cord was run between the rack and the seat at a moderate tension. I'm hoping that the cord will be useful for both holding things in the back and allowing a small increase in the weight carried there, since the seat is now carrying some of the load. (I'll stick to a maximum load of 10 kilos. ) ) I didn't realize that a full suspension bike couldn't carry a triangular luggage rack when I bought my folding electric bike, but it's a good solution. The bike still folds easily (folding is required for battery charging). This purchase has made me extremely happy.

I use my folding bike to get around campus where I work, and this is the best rack for it
5/5

My purse and a small tote fit perfectly on this rack. To keep the load secure, I use a couple of bungee cords. When I fold the bike and store it, I can leave it turned on. Because my seat post was on the higher end of the specs, I had some trouble securing it at first, but I replaced the bolt with a longer one from the hardware store, and it now works perfectly.

It's simple to set up and stay in place, but The only aspect of this product that I dislike is how well it fits with the Rak Pak that is designed to go with it
4/5

I had to raise the seat so high that I couldn't get on it because there wasn't enough room to attach the Pak to it! And I'm 5'11" tall, so I'm not exactly a shrimp. The Pak would not interfere with the seat if the Rak were a little longer. But, despite the fact that it can be a pain in the buttocks, I enjoy it!.

Junk
3/5

Not well designed or quick to release. All of the pieces are held in place by a single metal bolt. That is all there is to it. After a few rides, the bolt stripped the threads, rendering the rack useless. In addition, the rack is excessively heavy. In general, the construction and design are subpar. Avoid. Make a different investment with your money.
