Questions & Answers

Is there an adapter I can buy to put on the back of my bike because the two prongs don't seem to fit anywhere?

The prongs are designed to attach to the seat post on your bike. If they're too short, send an email to the company and they'll send you some that aren't.

Is it going to fit a Genesis 29"?

I have the rack mounted on a mountain bike and a road bike, both of which are equipped with 700x32 tires that provide ample clearance.

Is it possible to use this rack on a bike that has disc brakes?

On a Surly with Caliper brakes, I've mounted this rack. I don't see why this rack wouldn't fit a bike with disc brakes because it is adjustable. good luck

There aren't any holes in the carrier to put holes in? It's not an issue
5/5

I used a stainless steel rubberized "P" clamp, which has served me well.

After only two months of use, the rack broke
3/5

After two months of use, the rack was found to be 3- 4 times per week, with a maximum of 25 people. The part that attaches to the back wheel snapped off at the point where it contains a threaded hole to hold a screw that secures the rack to the back wheel at 30 pounds. When you look at it, it appears to be a weak point, and it's easy to see why it broke there. I'm not sure how I'm going to get a replacement at this point, because the Ibera website says to contact the store where you bought it. br>br>I found another review (by searching for "Warranty" in the customer reviews section of this amazon listing) where another person had the exact same experience. Several other people who had the rack break in the same spot have left comments on that same post. br>br>This has left me very disappointed. br>br>NEW UPDATES: br>br>NEW UPDATES: br>br> I contacted Ibera the day after I posted the above review, and they promptly sent me two replacement rods for the one that had broken. Given that I purchased the rack from Amazon and the warranty situation was unclear, this was a thoughtful gesture on their part. They were found and the rack was repaired. UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: After replacing the broken rod on one side of the bike, the rod on the other side snapped in the same spot a few days later. At the time, there was no load on the rack, and I had just walked over a small crack in the pavement. Fortunately, when the first rod broke, they sent me two more, so I had one spare. That was put in place. Since then, I've been using the rack for a couple of weeks and everything has gone well. Overall, I'm still a little disappointed.

I desperately desired to be loved
3/5

returned. It has a nice appearance and a solid feel to it, so I was hoping it would work out. The design seemed perfect for a pannier to me. I first did some research and read some reviews to make sure it would work with my road/commuter bike (a Giant OCR-1). 3W). Unfortunately, the top attachment arms did not fit properly on my bike; I was able to attach them, but it pushed down on my rear brake more on one side than the other, causing the brake to sit lopsidedly and preventing my tire from turning freely. I tried to secure the arms in every way possible without affecting the brake by adjusting every moving piece in every way possible. I had to return the rack because it was impossible. br>br>Here are a few points to keep in mind: Unless you're a bike guru, this will take you about 30 minutes to put together and mount, even if you're mechanically inclined. If you aren't, now is the time to change that. Godspeed. The instructions are a little confusing, and the diagrams are a little cluttered. Despite the fact that this rack claims to be for non-alcoholic beverages, It comes with two extra pieces for bikes with disk brakes, as well as a diagram showing how to put them together. These two pieces are not required if your rear brake is equipped with pads. br>br>In addition, the screws require three different sizes of hex drivers, so make sure you have a set that includes T20 through T30. If you don't use the old-fashioned way of doing things, you're going to be disappointed. You'll have a hard time screwing and unscrewing with your old school iron hex drivers. The six-year-old model is more modern. With these screws, the pointed star ones are useless. The tops of the screws are shallow, and the screw appears to be stripped and will not budge with the star driver.

I was skeptical at first, but for the price, I decided to give it a try
5/5

So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. Despite my reservations due to some other negative reviews with photographic evidence, I decided to go ahead and buy it. br>br>Since getting this rack, I've taken it on several longer rides, at least three of which were over 30 miles. I do check to make sure all of the connections are tight on a regular basis, and I've had to give a few of them a quarter turn here and there, so keep an eye on it. br>br>But aside from that, it appears to be solid, looks good, and fits properly (I have a 700c Giant/Liv Alight 2). If a weld failure or something similar occurs in the future, I'll try to photograph it and post it here. But, so far, I'm very pleased with it, and my concerns about the build quality have proven to be unfounded. I haven't put it through its paces with a lot of weight, and I've only used it to carry a few necessities like the U-lock so far. I don't need it to transport dynamite or lead ingots, so I'll pack a lock and a backpack with a change of clothes and possibly some food. So far, everything has gone well for me.
