After seeing it in a youtube video, I decided to buy one. I received the first one in a plain white box. It was faulty, as it would not turn on after being charged. It would only turn on long enough to display the red empty battery icon in the top right corner before shutting down. I returned it and received a replacement in a different box with a picture of the device on it. This one was a resounding success. I bought a second one for my second bike, but it turned out to be another white box that was also defective. I returned it and received a new one, which was a white box that was defective again and again. br>br>The working one is a 3 or 4 star product, but with 3 out of 4 units arriving defective and a very short return policy that requires immediate testing upon receipt, I believe this is a scam to stick people with defective goods that they do not realize are defective until after the return period has passed. br>br>DO NOT PURCHASE.
I wasn't sure if it would fit and mount where I wanted, but it did, and it was simple to set up. The only thing I wish was different about the monitor cable; it would be nice if it was plugged in the back instead of sticking out on the side.
The birds eye view was a good lens choice for this application, the mount is sufficient but I might add a bit of glue between the monitor and the mount just to make sure I don't lose the screen due to vibration, the screen does not appear to be water resistant so maybe carry a sandwich bag to throw over it if it rains too hard, and the illuminators are not as bright as I would like for night vision, I am happy with the purchase f.
It would be better if we had some wireless technology. The battery life appears to be adequate, but the recharging process is inconvenient. You'll need to remove the device's head or rig up a charger and extension cord for it near your bike. Poor in terms of functionality. I live in a semi-rural neighborhood in the suburbs. Although the speed limit on the street is 25, they frequently exceed it. You could be as flat as a pancake by the time you realize someone is approaching if you rely on the device to warn you of a driver's approach. When you notice the approaching vehicle from behind, you have little time to react. In this neighborhood, my ears serve as a better warning system. Forget about it on the major roads around here, where posted speeds of up to 55 mph are common. Even on highways with speed limits of 35 miles per hour, NG. I bought the device at the end of last year's fall season, which caused me to mistime things. I usually bike during the winter, but due to weather and other circumstances, I was unable to do so this year. I also missed the return window because I never gave it a fair chance before it closed. So, there's yet another piece of electronic equipment to recycle. It also has cracks in the case of the head unit, which is where the screen is located. No, I don't think this is a good idea. Overall, a fantastic concept that was sadly underutilized.
The long motorcycle style seat eliminates the seat tube where you would normally mount it, but owning a Super73RX means you are not normal, so I mounted it on the left handlbar all the way out and screen in the middle of bars, pointed down because sun and contrast. After charging all night, I went out for a few slow rides, adjusting the camera angle as I went (using the hex tool) until I got a good one. The only problem is that the fisheye lens has a hard time focusing unless the auto focus is set to dead center, which is what I set it to until I got it. The overall fitness, like all other low-cost items, may not be able to withstand a single drop. I made it through 127, but I'm now a high-end plastic. I was planning on purchasing one for my girlfriend's bike, but I'm afraid she won't appreciate the lens. For my size 6'4" 300 snickers, it's far superior to a helmet mount or handlebar mirror. It's also yet another device that makes me happy. Amazon is to be commended.
She hadn't ridden a bike in 50 years and was a nervous rider, which made me even more nervous because she didn't check her mirrors, which I had installed, and was unaware of cars approaching from behind. This camera system is extremely bright and is mounted on the accessory bar smack-dab in the middle of the accessory bar. She can now see everything behind her from the left, right, and straight behind her because she is right in front of her. I ordered a second one for myself, which I will install next week on my Himiway Cruiser Step Thru. My wife went through the Rad City Step Thru. I would advise you to get a 3. a 5 mm cable If you have a Step-by-Step, add an extension to it. Due to the much longer downtube, this is a through bike. You're going to need it. Reach from the cockpit of the handlebars, down the downtube to the crank, back up toward the seat, and possibly back to your rear rack, and possibly down again. With an e-mail address, you can send a message to anyone in the world You can keep this device charged at all times by using the USB port on your bike. On your control display, there is a port. Those are some cool beans!.
I'd gladly give it a 0 out of 5 star rating. It's a very thin wire. The camera stopped working in less than a month. Because the return window had closed, I had no choice but to order a new four-pole wire and perform a painful repair. In addition, the image quality is poor, not as advertised, and it suffers from overexposure.
This is a very interesting item. You'll be able to keep an eye on what's happening behind you. Installing it was a breeze. A wider range of mounting brackets is required. It can only be installed on tubing with a small diameter. Modern road bike tubing will not fit. The camera mount on the back is excessively large. When mounted on seat tubing, the leg is constantly hitting it. It would be preferable if the unit was a little thinner. Bright sunlight makes the monitor difficult to see. It would be beneficial to use a screen sun shield. I'm not sure about the battery life, and I'm not sure about the durability after just one ride. br>br>Overall, a good product.
